I can not believe that the main topic still discussed here is whether the appropriate term for a type of characters hardly appearing in the anime should be lent from book series for children.

I blame the puritans. Even with the arguments put forth, there's no real reason why the term can't be applied for this or any other magic-laden story - it fits, it's a popular term and it explains itself without the need for a lengthy exposition. Just run with it.
Although now, I wonder how Kagari would handle a certain Dragon Slave spell... ![]()

That talk about translations got me curious to watch a translated version of episode 7. So, did Medusa tell her minions it was fine to betray her if they were bored or did she mean that they all (including Medusa) would betray Ayaka once they got bored? The context of the scene where they sneak out of the room could kinda go either way for me assuming they don't want to openly go against Medusa's wishes. Also, in that punishment room where Ayaka and Honoka were being held, do the words on the wall actually say who the guilty person is or is that just referring to Kazane?

The words on the wall were written in a childish manner, implying that it was Ayaka's graffiti as a child. Note that Ayaka is a powerful witch even as a child, and as such a magic prison is the only way to hold her against her will.

And if you look at the number of days she counted on the wall, seems like she was imprisoned for quite a while! ![]() |

Ayaka's hidden emotions & feelings tend to come out through physical and symbolic expression rather than orally. That's one part of her character I find interesting.

That would br my guess .. or who knows maybe it was just ayaka and maybe that was the room used for a little..... attitude/emotion "adjustment". I do love how this series does have a few more "adult" themes just sprinkled in very quickly and non chalantly. |

I might be forgetting someone or two, but it seems to me that the author is quite particular in designing characters with different body types and heights. |

Well that would just mean Kazane either indeed deliver punishment to highly undisciplined daughter for her chaotic behaviour or that she simply gave up entirely.
It would be nice if it shuted up people, who thinks Ayaka can get away with anything. |
