I really like the animation in this anime.
Story looks like its full of potential.
They built solid foundations in this episode.
It was nice to get the past events right off the bat.
No need to flashback them in later on in the story.
I totally respect that move.
Looks interesting enough.
Will give this one a try.

I enjoyed the first episode. It definitely helps to have some familiarity with this type of storyline in order to fill in the sizable gaps here and there.

I haven't decided whether the Earth populace at large knows that sentient life exists just outside the atmosphere. I'm inclined to think that it doesn't, but I'm not sure how such a secret could have been kept for at least as long as Daichi's life.

Was anyone else misled by the pre-publicity into thinking that pink-hair & blue-hair were on Earth's side?

Wow. The bullshit factor was strong in this episode. A four-stage combination process, including a rocket launch? Check. Aliens, magical girls (multiple), young kids piloting giant robots? Check, check, check. It will be interesting to see where this random mashup of nonsense and anime cliches will go

No but I was misled by this episode into thinking that. Until they started attacking the Earth, of course. I wonder if they launched from the dark side of the moon? They seem to have some sort of warp capability so they will need to clarify later on why they don't just warp directly to Earth.

Wow, this was probably the longest mecha launching sequence I've seen. Expand, huh?

Also, another show where they take their ROARING LIBIDO and turn it into power...

Anyway, this episode was basically about the basic setting, so far it seems very ambitious. Our main character, a mysterious boy, a mysterious girl, another mysterious girl, and mysterious er, siblings? married couple? plus at least three mysterious organizations. There's a lot going on, and I like it so far. I hope the show will be able to live up to the promise...

Damn the animation. Just check

http://sakuga.yshi.org/post/show/422...gattai-hidetsu

Well, the first half felt like a really quiet show about dealing with Daichi's sad life....

Then comes the second half and a lot of stuff happens. Bouncy alien tits attack! I could sum it up like this "Are you bad enough Captain to pilot the robot, Daichi?"

That makes it two this season. Didn't know StarDriver had two sequels.

Also a few scenes seemed quite Freudian.

Like jamming a gun into an opening and pulling the trigger
or the little robot combining with the larger parts by entering through the crotch

Now that you mention it...

Better not think too deeply about that.

What a beautiful start.
That atmosphere of summer and days of youth is just perfect!
Daichi + Teppei = brofist forever. Enokido knows how to write a friendship-line, that's for sure.
And those libido-powered alien mecha - so "stardriver"-ish.
Looking forward to the story's development, 25 episodes should be enough for space opera, for love story and for everything.
Ah, my lovely youth/10.

Well, I mean, this is from the writer of Utena... At least people are not deflowering each other with phallic objects. Yet.

It's still got a long way to go until it can live up to Aquarion, though, specifically this part:

(NSFW...? I'm not sure...)

I hope that you like it,because knowing Utena and Star Driver you will see it EVERY EPISODE!!It felt weird watching it without some vocal music in the background though.
I was really entertained by this episode, hopefully the level of animation will stay consistent.

Massive Star Driver vibes and that's a good thing in my eyes. Now this is a right way of doing an honest fun mecha action romp. Create a great atmosphere to hook you in, create down to earth characters with sincere emotions for some added appeal, go at a fast enough pace that you're just caught in roller coaster of a build up and maintain that great atmosphere so that before you know it you're caught up in the excitement. That premiere was lots of fun. Definitely a keeper.

I really like this episode it fun story with a alright MC. So Either Teppei and dark skin girls are bro-sis or we are going to have love-square going on i guess hope not love-triangles or love-square are annoying to me, I say love square because there's the ed like character so she might like either teppei or Daichi. Good episode going to follow this.
