I was going through the machine translations of Volume 5 and if I am not mistaken read that Basara and Zest formed the master servent contract and she mentions that she is his maid. But a page or 2 back I think I read that she is the maid of the current maou.

I am not sure if I read it right. So whose maid is she?

Is she in a master servant contract with Basara and now part of his group?

since Basara sort of nearly curbstomped Zest's old master (not sure if he killed the poor sod but if he did, he may very well have the right since the heiress is bound to him by grace of lulz), she maybe is a "free card" of sorts.

No, Basara's mother is not considered a integral part of the story yet, however at the end of Vol 1 the author did emphasize:
"After all, Basara is my and--- their son."
maybe foreshadowing his mother's side of the family will get involved

No you're not. I actually didn't even notice the hair. I just thought it was a weird grin and didn't investigate.

So is Zest actually a bunny demon? Or is she Bunny Themed? Like, is that actually a bunny tail? or is it foam from soap that makes it look like a bunny tail? I need to know these things, I've been fooled before!

I am also wondering if she is bunny demon or not since the "things" on her head sometimes look like bunny ears and sometimes like horns(depending on angle)
