For the record it is not all that uncommon for people who have been singing all their lives to be able to sound far younger than they are, even if one is still surprised when one hears it. ^^
And yes PreSage, I had the exact same reaction to the white steed appearance! Felt like something out of a Jane Austen novel for a few seconds.

I wondered at first what the next season could be about too, but rest assured there is more material, and it could work in terms of story telling.
In terms of character development based only on the available manga chs I have read it is harder for me to anticipate....

One question: Was grandma's seiyuu also the one who's singing that song?
Anyways, this has got to be one of the rare breed of anime with the best main couple(yes I admit it, I'm a sucker for younger boy/older woman romances) AND best supporting cast. I'd love to have those people for my staff if I were royalty And I also lol'd at Livi and Kitora being nerdbros. Ah, at last, an on screen kiss. I haven't got much to say here, since I pretty much got what I expected. I actually don't mind a second season, since I heard some....interesting things about the chapters that follow those that got adapted in this series. If it was the seiyuu herself that did the singing I am going to be super impressed... but for some reason I thought it might have been Nike's seiyuu - though that is a total guess, of course.

Very good ending, and fitting. It would not have been that great if they had shown an adult Livi or something like that.
A small comment for those asking for a second season, so far the series covered 19 chapters of the manga. Right now the latest published is the 20th. So yeah, if you want ovas they will probably need original material not in the manga. Otherwise a season 2 will take a while to get approved if they wait for manga material.

Yup. It was Chisa Yokoyama, Tohara's seiyuu. She is probably the most experienced singer in the entire cast http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sBr3OdFNRtY http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DGAORvc5pUA http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3YmxqY0Nqgs http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oHE0-KwH-bA http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XTrI6TYscw4 http://www.nicozon.net/player.html?video_id=sm13707229 Last edited by AntonKutovoi; 2014-06-30 at 01:48. |

Wow... she is a full blown pro singer! What a voice! To be able to sing the farewell rain song, to VA the grandmother like she did, and to sing in musicals /operas? That is quite a broad talent there!

It's the pond scene of Darcy from A&E's PP version. He had the horse; Livi just needed a pond.

A perfect ending for a perfect series. I will miss Livi and Nike, but they made such a good job that I don't feel the urgency for a season 2. But the manga is still going on so, never say never.
I hope the BD and DVD will sell well. We need more anime like this!

I think the anime studio will continue to make similar anime, as long there is market for romance.
The ending pronunce happy ever happy after so loudly. A typical shoujo manga would have a SOP plot: love rivials. The couple will encounter 7 years of scrachy. They encountered eligible girl number 2 and eligible man number 2. After all the drama, they still stay together. Another season would be a drag on soap opera. Maybe the second season would start an unhappy beginning. Maybe another season means the next generation. The suggestion of another season makes me sad. I had seen another season ruined a good show. If they have confidence to make the story even better, go ahead. Else, I hope not. I would still watch couple episodes. |
