Second Term Episode 1 Discussion
While none of the School Rumble anime series have been licensed yet, they are produced by MFI, therefore we won't be listing fansubs here on AnimeSuki. See Removal of Media Factory Inc. Works for details.
Since it is "restricted", the following posts are no longer allowed in this forum.
This restriction applies to
You still are allowed to discuss the anime, that has not changed but please remember to limit the discussion to the story. And of course, the School Rumble manga has been licensed by Del Rey. End of edit by Mod (xris) --- So, I gather we can discuss it here, right? Anyway, the first episode of the Second Season has aired. If you liked 1st season, you'll LOVE this. This is the same good ol' School Rumble, continued. Not much has changed, as far as i can see and it is pretty much the same high quality comedy. For those unfamiliar with the series, my best description of School Rumble is: Azumanga Daioh with plot and funnier. 8) This series has pretty much restored my faith in the romatic school comedies, so I eagerly await each new episode now. Spoiler:
The OP is "Sentimental Generation" by Ami Tokito, a very upbeat song in the same vein as last season's Scramble by Horie Yui. Although I liked Scramble better, this song is nice. Perky and fun and very catchy. 8) The ED is "Kono Namida ga Arukara Tsugi no Ippo to Naru", again by Ami Tokito, a very nice slow song, again, in the vein of the 1st season's ED. So, not much has changed, but it's the same good stuff. The cast and staff is pretty much unchanged as well. Last edited by xris; 2006-04-02 at 17:03. |

I had a big post but damn forum ate it Well the new season is finally here. Starts at the beginning of volume 8 with some stuff moved around since it was used last season to make up the ending. Lots of the same hyperactive comedy from last season along with more Tenma. I don't quite like the new OP and ED but not like I'll watch them ever again either. Anywho for this episode...

You beat me with a minute about posting the new topic :|
Anyway ep1 was really good...I didn't understand too much (I don't know too much japanese yet), but as much as I saw, it is really good, as good as season 1. The new OP/ED are really good as well, the Single with the OP is coming out on April 19th. |

Just listening to the song, (just starting to check out this episode), the song sucks...
And the lyrics is totally ridiculous. It pretty much picked up right after where the last season left off....at the beginning of volume 8. They covered 7 volumes (although vol.7 was a bit rushed, but the OVA took care of that) in 26 eps. That means season 2 will probably cover just as much..., up to vol.14, although at the rate the manga is going, I seriously doubt that it'll finish by vol.14, but at least vol.14 should be released by October, when the anime ends this season. Maybe there's gonna be a third season :O j/k |

This series is pretty much endless, they can go on for as long as they want. Remember the bogus ending of season 1 (with Karasuma as the alien)? They can easily do that every single season and still continue on and on with the same crack romantic sitcom. 8)
Personally, I can't get enough of ONEE-CHAN POWER, so it's fine with me. 8) |

I suppose that's true. They're already padding it with anime-original materials, such as the 2-D's challenge for the culture festival. In the manga, only 2C did the Survival Game (my favorite part ) Are they gonna add 2D folks in there? Or????? I can't wait
oh I'm totally enjoying the bonus part at the end. |

w00t, just watched ep1. It's nice that school rumble is easy enough to understand that a minimum knowledge of Japanese is enough to watch it raw. Funny as hell.
I thought the OP song is catchy and the ED song fits well too. I still like "Scramble" more though. But I do think Ami Tokito is cuter than Yui Horie, must be the glasses and her ^ ^ eyes. :-D |

Agreed the new OP and ED for Second Term isn't as great as the first season.
Going by the first episode it looks like we're going to see a lot of parts in the anime that wasn't in the manga. Not that I"m complaining but they better not cut out any of the Yakumo scenes like they did at the end of the previous series. Was it just me or were those rainbow type backgrounds in some of the scenes very distracting. Talk about trying to cut production costs. |

I don't agree on the matter that the OP sucks. Or better, I'd wait before stating it.
We have on our ears like one year and a half of Horie Yui & Scandal's "Scramble" (which is wonderful indeed), of course it's difficult to bow to a new song, that we have in the ears from one day or two. I'd say to give time to "Sentimental Generation" (it's sung by a 18 years old J-Idol, Tokitou Ami - I thought she were a little older, by the voice), I'm quite liking it so far and I'm sure that listening and over listening to it, like it'll likely happen, will raise it's grade. I'd also say the Intro (meant as musicless sequence for season 1 was way better than this on the season 2, I particularly miss the - Tenma flowing on a cloud sequence - , but again, it's comparing something stuck in our memory against something brand new). While the ED (always sung by Tokitou Ami) looks weaker, even though it's a different type of song, uncatchy and needs more to be understood. Sure Ogura Yuko's "Onna no ko Otoko no ko" was an impressive hit as well. As for the episode, so far I've seen just the first minutes. I laughed in the beginning by seeing Tennouji, LOL, I guess he gained some weight in these months (like 100/200 tons ) Bur also from the gifs I'm seeing, it's clear SR 2 won't disappoint the fans. I only hope for the 26 episode formula. With all the potential they have, 13 would look kind of a waste.

Based on the pace that they're going at, they probably won't get anywhere with only 13 episodes. The rumor is based on a channel guide: http://cal.syoboi.jp/tid/822#47495 That being said, ep 13 isn't indicated as the "final" ep - it's only the last one known, at present. It's entirely possible that more entries will be added as the information becomes available. There isn't any official word on the total length of the series at present. No need to worry too much... yet. Ah, the look that Eri gave Yakumo and Sara was absolutely brilliant. So many mixed emotions packed in there. |
