Ah, good ol' jerk Kirito, going from unpleasant flashbacks to psychological badass to smarmy womanizer, all in the space of five minutes.
Because putting on a cute smirk while you're holding Sinon, right after you ask if she can kill without hesitation, is a little whiplashy. |

That threat wasn't something Kirito could take lightly.
Flashback to SAO was interesting. Attack on Laughing Coffin HQ explained some things. No wonder Kirito got the creeps when he saw that tattoo. Still, why was he scared shitless? Overreacting much? Well, at least Sinon could relate to his state. BoB round 2! Kirito got a chance to vent his frustration. Sinon round 5, the first they showed us, nice though. Damn, I knew this would happen. Kirito vs Sinon! That was no battle, it was just drama. I get that it was hard to fight.. When the finally got to it, it was good.

They didn't really emphasize it in the anime, but IIRC in the LN she's missing her shots deliberately to see if she could get a rise out of Kirito.

Heh.
That's the talent of Natural Born Gigolo in practice. XD edit. Anyway, I really liked the action, though they could have made it clearer, that Sinon was shoting off target on purpose those few times. The flashback was really nice - it seemed even clearer in some ways then LN, though some things (like the root(s) of Kirito's PTSD) could have been made more apparent - though may be they are putting off some info for later... |

i really liked how the effect SAO had on Kirito finally plays into the series. ALO wasn't affected by this at all. seeing the flash back was awesome too.
and sinon missing shots, even without reading the novel, is explained by the situation anyways. she's riled up about how he doesn't seem to care, and by extension, her projected landing circle is majorly fluctuating. so even if she was trying to hit him, she probably couldn't.

He feels guilty because he let his feelings get the better of him and killed those people. Not that anyone blames him but he feels he could have avoided killing them and unlike what happened with Sinon he chose to try and forget everything after that.

I get its suppose to be tragic or whatever, but the way Kirito's trauma is delivered just makes me laugh. The bad music, Kirito being super emo. ect
lol @ the person Sinion shot in the car, what a dummy. I feel that a sniper would be pretty disadvantageous in these 1v1 tourny fights...even if her first shot is cloaked. And its not even guaranteed its a good snipe map, most seem to be ground fields. But whatever... lol @ Sinion vs. Kirito. Watching her eye thru the scope. The shot of Kirito pressing his penis (sword) in Sinions face was erotic though. If the viewers think Kirito is a female, they would think it was two women embracing eachother. Don't really have an impression overall in the 'fight' Seems its just a way to end this portion

Honestly I was kind of hoping that Sinion was going to win this first encounter. Seemed possible considering how unstable Kirito was looking after that Death Gun incident. And certainly she would have won if she just took the shot the first time. But I suppose that wouldn't have mattered much to either party since Kirito was basically asking for it.
Wonder if this means they'll go the other way. Have Sinon lose here, but eventually actually beat Kirito in the tournament because she's made some personal progress. Although Kirito does have his womanizing and his pure skill, this arc is pairing some similar people together. Both having really killed someone and having to carry that burden. Yeah, they really could have gotten that across better. Made it look more like she was missing because she was so pissed off that she couldn't aim properly.
