I honestly don't know. Feel like is there is something different between Western and Japanese erotic genre - I'm not familiar with contemporary culture, but as I know (through limited hours of watching NHK), the context of something like Shunga were more than just for the sake of intercourse itself.

I know Izuru's ideas aren't original, but I'm seeing tons of other works with the same core premise as IS floating around now. I'm guessing with writers believing they can fill in the niche carved in and still occupied by the corrosive haze that is IS.

What do you guys think?

You can build anything as long as you have the correct support to sustain it. In Izuru's case, he's trying to build a sky scraper on a floating platform that isn't anchored down to anything. If the world that the writers are building can support something like the IS Core, then the material and the story will hold up under scrutiny.

Sad thing is, I think CHOCO has more of a literal grasp of what the IS Cores can do moreso than Izuru...and he just draws the stuff.

I think at the very least we've all agreed that Izuru's colleagues are basically carrying the team. Izuru's like that one pudge who went mid and can't hook for crap.

Humans are one of the few unique species with irregular libido and mate for the sake of recreation. This is why we have such crazy thing called 'porn', where they find enjoyment and thrill from recorded material instead of real thing. (masturbation doesn't necessarily happen in the process).

Also on the note, humans are capable of feeling dissonance due to logical thinking clashing with their desire/lack thereoff, for example, same level of fanservice in two different show will trigger different reaction.

It's technically legal for highschoolers to get military training right? I mean there's the CAT and ROTC programs in various countries.

@ Demio: As in institutionalized military training? Yes. There are some private schools that cater to such with a military-like regimen. There's also training from freelancers aka family member/friend who was in the military and taught you how to shoot, clean weapons, recognize weapon systems, land nav, and a host of other things as well.

It can work...except there's a 4-man team limit...but in all honesty, this can work...

- ISA = Beacon, which has several schools that feed into it, which ISA SHOULD have... Izuru...

- IS pilots = Hunters/Huntresses : They are the only ones who can 'hunt/fight' the Grimm/Golems on their level. Too much for a normal/classically trained human.

- IS & Core = Weapons : The Weapons will be a dual system: one short range/melee and a long range function. In RWBY, the Weapons can either their form based on the need of the user. This is done Mechanically.

- Best thing is: both guys and girls should be able to use it but more girls are accepted due to them having higher synch rates than the guys. There are ways around that, however...

Hnn, there are camps and such for kids on actual bases and training centers that are funded, but nothing serious. What they get is just the experience, not any applicable training. Not IRL that I'm aware of. Only very militaristic governments would consider doing something like that.

...alternate to that - join a militia. That can be private to state/province funded as well.
