The problem with Kashiwagi-san is not that it is slow (even though it is), the real serious issue that it has is that it gets sidetracked by other developments. It is really annoying to say the least, especially when you think it is finally going somewhere then it pulls a Nazo no Kanojo X and gets distracted by other less important characters.

Ah I see..., though I can't quite remember what happened in Nazo no Kanojo X other than saliva exchange. I've read it long ago before the anime ever announced, but gave up midway.
On a side note: Just learned the name Kazama Ayami. An author notorious for writing cute vanilla romance for shonen/seinen demographic (about 7 out of 9). The other 2 are Shoujo and Josei. Now, that I think about it. Seems like there are a lot of female authors who write for male demographic and some of them even very well known (Kawashita Mizuki, Aki Eda, Arakawa Hiromu). But, I haven't heard any male mangaka who writes on any shoujo magazine (inb4 Osamu Tezuka and numerous old people). |

Okay, OP is here. With holiday is over and college works piling up.
Just reading and putting something on reading and plan-to-read list. And so far, only one down for sure. Regretfully, Magica no Kenshi should go down for good. The latest chapter development was just too much for me. Adding Love Roma and Ohikkoshi on PTR. Aand, i know I've heard this guy's name somewhere. https://www.mangaupdates.com/authors.html?id=742 |

Well, its (vanilla-tragedy) still better than polygon/harlem-tragedy. In particular, where the side love interest just die because she has no chance of winning (or to invoke MC's personal rage)? That kind of abomination always getting on my nerves (2011+3? Yes, I'm still mad!). Anime? Nah..., maybe later. My PTW is still piling up, and my toaster is slowly dying. |

Did you read the manga version, LN version, or Anime version?
__________________________________________________ ______________ Anyway on side notes: been reading most of the suggestion. Now, that I think about it. Is there any romance which feels pretty.... balanced/normal? Well, I can't really put my finger on it. Basically, both hero and heroine were being put in a very similarly normal situation (no alien, no ghost, no idol, no complex, personal/family issue or whatsoever). They're both fairly normal, stick in the mud of character whereas no one has any advantages over the other. And the story only focuses on their relationship without spilling into over-adornment (with tropes, trait, etc) on one character. Basically, opposite of the usual "normal/lame MC x Idol/Super-famous hero/heroine" which flocking around shonen and shoujo demographic like cancer. |

For normal everyday life kind....Try Romantica Clock. Pretty well written. But it's middle school setting, so it won't be the mature kind

hibi chouchou
love story about awfully shy boy and girl. less drama and more about how these two become more and more closer each day. hajioutsu definitely high grade vanilla Ore Monogatari! the MC may ugly, but he is man among man.
