Well good ... I guess I will settle for a boombox as opposed to a rice cooker. Good going Sinon.
Also nice to see things begin to be healed some for her as well - both the confrontation with the bullies and the meeting of the post office worker and her child. I liked the arc as a whole.

Damn, well that twist that saved Kirito is a well used trope. xD
Anyways I liked this arc. Shinkawa's yandare moment got kinda extended too much tho. Can't wait for the next arc. The feels.

7 episodes for Mother's Rosario does seem rather short, but then again it was a relatively short arc.

Now Sinon can finally begin to heal and what do you know? It was ultimately Sinon who saved the day when Kirito wasn't able to close the deal. It was also nice to see her successfully stand up for herself against the bullies and was heartwarmingly sweet that she was finally able to take the first step toward healing her trauma when she met the mother she saved and the little girl who was able to be born safely thanks to her.

...Wow, not sure if that was just poorly adapted or if the novel was that bad too, but man:
1) Show Kirito get stabbed and injected in solar plexus, then imply he was instead stabbed in the left nipple. This I assume is 100% on the anime, but still. Why not just, you know, have Sinon save him before he gets injected rather than forcing a deus ex machina 1 in a million saving throw? 2) "Girl I've been macking on for the last few weeks, I want to introduce you to some people. These are my friends from SAO." Yeah Kirito, because Asuna isn't your girlfriend/pseudo-wife or anything. Go ahead and introduce her as a friend and nothing more. |

This episode was fantastic. That was just incredible. That was the end of this arc that I was waiting for, for a very long time. One of those infinity/10 episodes that you are only privileged with seeing a few times in a lifetime. That was phenomenal.

Asano was already scared enough that she almost left before Kirito managed to make her stay and listen. He was smart as introducing them as his friends because this much was true, and the whole point of that introduction was to help Asano make real world friends that are also girl VRMMO players. Another thing that people saying this ignored is that Kirito already talked to Asuna and Lizbeth about Sinon's circumstances and they all explored what happened to her past in order to try to help her cure her trauma. They all planned what to say here. It isn't like Kirito just talked to Asuna for the first time after spending time with Asano. They already discussed how to make the introductions, so this remark should just get scrapped. It was done much better this way than any other way people were suggesting. That's for sure. I really liked this episode and it was an excellent finish to an excellent arc. I just wish they had exposition/fight episodes like this more often, because this is way better than the episodes where I feel like nothing is happening because it is just a bunch of fight scenes. Edit: ^ lol. |

I'm just going to lol at how Kirito stayed alive there. I mean come on, there is luck and then there is that. Rewatching it a few times I guess they were close on where the attempted injection was. It was an awkward visual angle. But even still it looked more like he got Kirito in the center, not off to the left where it would need to be. They really should have just come up with a better way of saving Kirito. Just don't have him get injected. Have Shino move in and smack him unconscious before he's able to make that move.
As a whole though I enjoyed the episode. Sinon managed to save the day which is nice. Kirito basically just serving as a punching bag distraction which was enough. Plenty of things she could have hit Shinkawa with, but that worked alright. I sure as heck hope none of those guys gets away with the insanity defense. Honestly that thing is pretty rare to actually succeed anyways. That's a pretty tough thing to argue. Just being a weirdo doesn't make you legally insane. Shinkawa might be able to argue being downright insane, but the others shouldn't get that far. Especially when you use the testimony of what that one Death Gun told his brother. Doesn't sound like a guy who doesn't understand what he was doing. Glad Shino managed to confront those bullies. But it wasn't like she was 100% fine the whole time. It very much was one small step among many that she need to take. It'd be ridiculous if she got over everything that quickly. Not surprised that Shino was pretty shocked/pissed/upset, both at Kirito spreading her story and also them visiting that town. It worked out, but yeah I think most would be angry before that point. Somehow I think this is more gratitude than Shino has gotten this whole time from anyone. Never got that from her mother or anyone else there who's lives she saved. I agree she should be able to take some pride in that her actions did avert greater tragedy. And yes, I was waiting for "this is Asuna, my girlfriend" which I expected to create one heck of a reaction from Shino. But yeah, the harem King carefully managing the harem I guess. Can say it would affect the mood, but at the same time it's not like he's lacked opportunities throughout this whole arc to at least bring up the fact he's dating someone.

This was actually a very good wrap-up episode imo.
I'm glad that Asada was the one to save her own ass by cracking the kid with her boombox. Kirito sucks at fighting IRL as usual, lol. Trying to be the hero barging in, and gets beat up by a weak wimpy doctor's son. The scene with Asada standing up to her bullies was good. Wish she shot at them though. lol @ Kirito waiting for Asada at the school gate with his motorcycle. Trying to be cool IRL again. Bet he's just thinking "I'm so badass right now" while waiting. The bit at the end with her meeting the mother and son of someone she saved during that time was a bit hammy, and felt it wasn't really needed, since she was already overcoming things herself fine.

In the end it was Sinon that actually stopped her deranged friend. Kirito tried but it was Sinon that ended up saving the day. It was also nice to see her stand up to her bullies and show that Sinon is the path of recovery and is taking her path slowly. I can understand why Sinon was upset at Kirito for telling others about her past even though it worked out. Sinon finally got some gratitude for her actions and learned to think about the lives she saved rather than always condemning herself for the one she took.
