Holy shit this premiere. After watching Gekkan Shojo or Tonari no Kaibutsu-Kun a year back, this is like watching Glasslip after watching Tari Tari.
Just awful... no other word to describe it. RIP Haak. I don't know how you're gonna survive this even if it has Kanae Itou in it. Im out. |

I'm in the minority because I enjoyed myself. I see the basic setup as a morality tale. Given the short nature of the series (I'm assuming it's only 1 cour), I doubt the morality tale will reach its natural conclusion where both she and he have learned the proper behavior expected of good Japanese citizens. But I'm sure it will happen some time in the manga. (Not a manga reader, by the way.) Meanwhile, I'm going to indulge my sadistic side by watching what trials lessons karma puts them through.

This has a painfully tired premise but the two seiyuus made it work. If the guy remained in full troll mode, it could be entertaining, but he's of course a good guy with a sad past that will make the heroine fall head over heels for him.

I found this anime really sexist and annoying to a high degree, but at the same time i cannot stop watching it....some side of me thinks that this is like a similar version Ao Haru ride(or even V1.5), but with less romantic parts and more absurd characters, but i will still watch it to see how it goes
Edit: is there any good shoujo anime after tonari no kaibutsu? (Dont count gekkan shoujo)

feels like there's a rise in weird feel anime like Ao Haru Ride and this Ookami Shoujo...
where the main girl always start out being someone they're not just to try and "fit in", and later gets put back in track by a guy. however, Ookami Shoujo starts out by making the girl look like a "pet", thus the title... Wolf Girl to black Prince... (black being he's a S) (imagine those guys in black tights with whips) to make it worse, the girl follows suit because of the "fit in"... it's the same thing as I said in Ao Haru's thread, I hate people that falls to peer pressure and make themselves into crap just to "fit in" Also reminds me of those music I hear on radio (no idea of title), the ones with "don't care if people know my secret" and "don't try so hard ... do you like you?" (except the anime starts is the exact opposite of those empowering songs) |

Well okay. Main hero is a sadist, but, you know, heroine seems to like it. Well, if she was so disgusted by his behaviour, felt abused and threatened, she would stop thinking about 'what these girls will think about me' and just avoid him at all costs and maybe approach a teacher. But what has she done? Said that 'this is not okay' and agreed. I would describe her as a latent masochist, because she was acting tsundere about all this dog-thing, not afraid, but just saying it is wrong. And then this scene near the park. She was like 'you won't rape me, won't you?' he's like 'nope' and she just believes and goes with him. If she was afraid and feel threat, then she would just flee.
So yeah, I think it's not abusive relationship, when both like it. She always could leave and she can't be this stupid to not understand that she hasn't to do all these things he asks for. He never really threatened her - promising to tell everyone isn't that scary threat for her, she almost even tell everyone herself to protect him. She couldn't start to feel scared of leaving and stuff like it happens in abusive relationships so quickly. Also, I loved OP and ED, and 1st episode made me smile. Just a shoujo show, that I will probably enjoy. ^^

The manga for this is actually pretty amazing (not going to say anything else)
But yeah, I got interested in the manga after episode 1, and then read it up to the current chapter and was VERY pleasantly surprised. This is probably one of the better Shoujo's I have read in recent memory. So I'm pretty hyped for how this goes. The first episode was pretty good. I can't wait for more. Though... the dog part... bothered me... a bit... |

Erika "enjoying" her time with ther fake boyfriend.
The possibility of having a real & nice one presented itself. She even got bullied by all the gilrs in school for "dating" Kyoya. Kimura would have been the right one for her. If only she didn't already have a fake one.. OMG! He actually broke her phone just for exchanging info with Kimura. I was glad she went on a date with him. Damn... looks like he was a dud too.. Poor Erika just can't catch a break. Interesting... maybe there is still some hope for Kyoya & her.

Lols I should stop watching this show because it's gonna turn me into a sadist. I mean, I could see that the 'good guy' is a bad guy a long way off, but I can't help but feel that the heroine deserves all what happens later.... all the while I was chuckling here and there throughout the episode. I'm really turning into a bad man, eh?

This is what i call a true-life shoujo, not a perfect love, not just good friends, just girl facing the sad true of the love in this days, being manipulated by it, and suffer by it, my opinion of this serie has changed a little from what it was last week, i will watch this focusing in how destiny troll her love life and laugh, instead of expecting a cute and full romance shoujo
I truly thought that that guy was actually nice, but when the scene in the park showed up, all i could do was feel pity for her

I'm not sure what to think of shoujo anymore. They tend to promote these themes. Well, the main girl and guy both have bad characteristics that make it hard to sympathize with them. However, the most disturbing is the shoujo theme of going after the "bad boy" to "fix" him into a better person. The guy is abusive. Sure he has his good points, but that does not take away from his abusiveness. It's these fantasies these shoujo manga artists have. Reality, for the most part, is not like that.
There is saying I heard. Men marry women hoping that they never change. Women marry men hoping that they will change. However, reality is that men won't change and women will change. I might have the words correctly, but the gist of the meaning is there. I'm still wondering why the shoujo industry promotes abusive relationships so much. Don't we have enough divorces and cheating going on in the world already?

As predictable as I think it's gonna be, I'm enjoying it so far.
The guy may appear to be an abusive dick, but don't forget that she brought it upon herself, and she still keeps on lying through her teeth. She started the whole thing, so she's the one at fault for letting it get this far, not him.
