Skip to 2:28 for the fight and imagine the Black Knight winning at the end of that. That's the level of absurdity I'm talking about.

Kyouka's link magic only sped up the counter at the cost of her life - even if she died before the counter could be stopped, I suppose the face countdown would keep going, just at a slower rate than before.

I kind of accepted the absurdity of the chapter, but it still felt too short for my tastes. All we got in terms of events was:
1. Senseless Erza beats up Kyouka. 2. Senseless Erza BEATS Kyouka. 3. Minerva stabs Kyouka. 4. Time runs out. On the other hand, I knew Erza's magic eye had nothing to do with this. Unless Hiro Mashima decides to backtrack and say it WAS her eye that allowed her to see in a later chapter or Q&A.

So the 'extreme pain' part of this mini-arc entitled 'extreme pain' lasted only a couple of chapters even though this part started in chapter 395? Huh.
Whatever, as long as this means no more Erza for a while, I'm good with it. |

You forget, though, that the main hero of the story still has his fight, with the big bad boss, no less. Furthermore there was never any clarity on what Face exactly does and how it does it, that lack of information leaves far too many possibilities open.

Can't, remember they closed off the portal to Edolas FOREVER.
(at least that's what I remember.... lol) Plus, it's pretty tough to move ALL FACE within the time limit, it's all over the planet (or was it just the continent). Unless you can travel at the speed of light, it's impossible to reach all FACE and move them before they all go off. |

Well, it looks like we won't know what'll be happening about Face just yet. Then again, we did get a neat fight out of this chapter. I was nearly upset when Natsu tried to keep Sting and Rogue out of the action, but Sting sure turned that around. The Twin Dragons will probably not stand out on top at the end of this fight, but I say they should get as much love as they can while it lasts.
Still don't know what this "Magna Carta" is, but now that I know what direction the story is going in now, I'm starting to get ideas. In real life, it's a charter that was meant to limit the King of England's powers and protect the rights of his subjects. Maybe this has to do with Mard Geer (the Underworld King) or E.N.D.'s book.

Acnologia actually speaking was a bit of a surprise...and I do wonder, can he still use dragon slaying magic when fighting versus dragons? As for Mard Geer...he's rather weak for a dark guild boss - he took a beating from the spirit king and now he's getting tossed around by the trip dragons...looking forward to his ANNNNGRY mode, although a small part of me expects this to be a plot device to get rid of two certain dragon slayers, whose fate is most likely to fall unconscious after weakening this villain enough for Natsu to punch in the face.
