EDIT: Something another website pointed out is that Alice could be a reference to Harrogate Theatre's Alice in Wonderland or the ghost that is said to haunt the place. We know Megan likes the theatre or at least sorta seems that way from her appearances before, so i'm buying this theory.

nah Saki is caught up just Ritz is releasing it slower than usual and the Biyori is caught up as well. However the guy translation all of this apparently is going through some issues so Shinohayu isn't up to date with the last few missing.

... Not sure if serious but I see three reasosn.
1 . They're used to it . It's a society where they never were underwear
2 . Because rape is still illegal ( outside of the mahjong table ).
3 . They don't want to die. ( Some of those girl have real supernatural power )

Can you explain more? Because my initial quick Googling of Harrogate's Alice said nothing about any ghosts.

It really sucks to be Shino, when every fun thing you do reminds you of your missing mom.

Something that struck me: Shino's mom disappeared when Shino was in fourth grade; if she hadn't reappeared by the time Shino gets to high school (ie. when she plays in that semifinals), won't they have to declare her legally dead?

Whew been awhile for Shinohayu but my patience was rewarded, Hayari has found her resolve and has started her path, so now we return to Shino and the gang.

The Shinohayu girls are so freaking cute but all there stories have some biter sweetness to them. Absolutely love Hayari's mom and Hayari's conversation. Can't wait to meet the new girl next chapter.

I love Saki, but Shinohayu just takes it to a whole new level of awesome-ness. It feels like a much more mature work. Also, it has vastly better pacing. All it's chapters tell an actual story instead of just the same tournament for volumes and volumes.

I agree about the story. There's quite a bit of character development, as well as discussion of the characters' lives outside of mahjong. I liked reading about the Saki characters' backstories, and seeing those backstories play a more central role in the story is quite nice.

The pacing is also significantly better. Perhaps it will take years (both in universe and in real time) for Shino to make any meaningful progress in reuniting with her mother, but at least the story feels like it's going somewhere.

That 's because shinohayu have more pages and focus around the characters and their growth in almost a SOL way. She can take the time. It's also helped by the fact that it's only the start and f course than Ritz as learn since she started Saki.

In Saki the cut is different, in 14 page she has to make something interesting, If you look back on the first chapter of Saki ( 25 pages ) it was once again something else.

However if it shall go into detailed mahjong game you'll see the pacing drop. The back ground will also probably drop once the main characters' background story has been told ( something she couldn't do in Saki for obvious reason )

Their is also the fact that we have on one side a championship and on the development of characters for month/years.
