First the Swedish incident, now this.

I wonder if the British are starting to regret scrapping their Nimrod sub-hunting
planes?
I wonder if it's one of the result of the regained tension between Russia and the west over Ukraine or just the general increase of military operation since Putin was elected.

Edit: Furor Over Move to Aid Big Banks in Funding Bill
http://www.nytimes.com/2014/12/12/bu...=top-news&_r=0
Quote:
The “push-out” regulation — a measure to ensure that banks trade their riskiest financial instruments without the protection of the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation or the Federal Reserve’s backup — was controversial from the start. Hundreds of billions of taxpayer dollars were shoveled into Wall Street banks after instruments like credit default swaps became worthless in the financial crisis, but even some crucial Democrats were unsure if Congress went too far when it voted to include push-out in the landmark Dodd-Frank law to regulate Wall Street in 2010.

But with regulators pressing to put rules into effect to carry out the law, a provision in the enormous spending bill to remove the push-out regulation drew bipartisan outrage. Representative Nancy Pelosi of California, the House minority leader, said she was “heartbroken” by the “taint” visited upon the spending bill, which would finance virtually all of the government through September.

Speaking of what Greenpeace did, they are worth being sued into oblivion. Absolutely disgusting.

Does anyone think Seth Rogen will be sued for 'The Interview' after all these Sony leaks? Was Seth Rogen responsible for that movie? I just have a feeling Sony will go after someone who was at the helm of that movie, because this hack on Sony is becoming really bad for them.

I also hope some people from Greenpeace end up in jail for what they did.

Bad PR, too. I didn't know too much about Greenpeace before that news story, but I was 'neutral' on them. Now I dislike them.

I dont think all of them are bad, but the actions of many in their camp, end up destroying more than preserving.

Greenpeace has a history of pulling stunts like this. This one is so egregious that apologies aren't good enough. This is defacing of a historic, one of a kind relic. You can't fix it, ever. All for a shitty message that can be found on every social media site.

Like justin said, it's stunts like this that do more harm than good. I believe in renewable energy, sure. I want a healthy planet. But this did permanent damage to something irreplaceable and only makes their message even easier to dismiss.

Technically, it's more of a man-made archaeological monument. Not really environmentally relevant. (Not that I want to condone what they've done. Just saying, it's not like they blew up a chemical plant.)

That's actually my problem with Greenpeace; they don't see humans as animals. They consider the human race as some kind of foreign alien invader and that we are somehow unnatural compared to other plants and animals.

That mentality is simply incorrect. Plants and animals are perfectly capable of destroying the habitat and causing extinctions of other species if they got the resources. Nature is never living in harmony, it is cut throat. I am all for taking care of the environment just for the sake of sustainability, because we have to share this planet with others. But humans are natural, and unless that is accepted Greenpeace just won't get their message to go anywhere.

I knew someone will bring this up. Notice I said "environment" in a generic fashion?
It's just playin' with words, by omission of "natural" and "built" from them.
Precisely my point actually, to them the only thing that's environmentally relevant is what they consider Natural Environment.

its not like they deliberately set out to ruin it, just an unintended thoughtless action. I doubt they understood how contrasting the surface is to what is underneath. Doesn't clear them though, idjits.

It's also not like most people intend to destroy the environment either. Which is what makes all this shenanigans on Green Peace's part hilarious.

woah, never knew that's a thing b4 today. This is... interesting.

And it seems Ishihara's going down. One of the few good things coming out of this election.
