As much as I wanna call Kana dumb and say she got what she was looking for, she had no reason to believe Shinichi's extraordinary story. But the lovesick lulu was a little mental what with her romantic delusions of grandeur despite her age.
I didn't feel much when Kana got killed but I felt really sad when Shinichi said, "If we go any further, we'll just open a hole in his heart, too." That guy was a real douchebag every time he'd made an appearance on the screen but he genuinely loved Kana. I didn't expect to feel so bad for him as much as I did. It was kinda ridiculous how Shinichi encountered a parasite or two pretty much anywhere he went. Just goes to show how many parasites have already infiltrated the human society. Most of them don't seem to have any end goals except for subsistence, but there are some special cases like that mayor who seem to have loftier ambitions. I can't help but wonder if Kana's safety would've been assured if Shinichi flat out rejected her before she let her imagination fly. She only got killed because she was obsessed with Shinichi. If he'd had the decisiveness to cut her out from his life maybe he could've dissuaded her from going nuts for him. After this event, Shinichi's lost another piece of his soul and he, too wonders how long he can stay human. |

The women in this series just love tempting danger..
Kana why.. I felt bad for the other guy, he was a ruffian, but he genuinely cared for Kana. Shinichi's line "Why do you (referring to regular humans) go down so easily" He just has to watch the people around get slaughtered like bugs and he's always too late.

This was really a beautiful episode, I love particularly the music that accompanied most of the events we have seen.
Shinichi finally accepts the fact that he is no longer human and he has become quite a frightful killing machine. Normal parasytes at this point aren't even a match for him and Migi. Interesting, the next episode is called 悲しみよこんいちは

A good episode. So that's what they did to the handphone. In the manga's time, handphone has not been popularized yet, so I have been waiting to see what Madhouse would do to that particularly plot point when they move the setting to modern time. (In the manga, it's obvious that Shinichi could not call her: she has left the house and he could only call her house phone) "Forgetting the handphone" is quite an overused excuse, but it works perfectly this time, very in line to how Kana's character has been until now. It's very in character that she got absorbed in her fantasy and forgot the handphone at that particularly crucial moment.
Chapter 31 now, I think Madhouse could make it, of course they still has to move a bit faster, but timing is perfect until now. Hope there would be no recaps. The scene of Kana's death, and then the scene of Shinichi at the end are both beautifully directed. This anime has been relied on the strength of the original work until now, it's nice to see the director sometimes reminded us what animation and music could do to a scene, just like the eps of Hideo previously. Well, I am surprised that Kana's arc is over that fast - always got the impression it's a little slower in the manga, but maybe it's just the difference in different media. It's all for the best though, as the next arc is probably my most favourite in the manga. |

This episode, so much feels
The beautiful use of OST and when the ED them kicks in, I was almost in tears. Kana's kinda asking for it after repeated warnings, but I can't really hate her for that....poor girl

I just run into this thread again to say I am so IN LOVE with Aya Hirano's acting this time.
With only two world of Migi "Bogyo" (defense) and "Sugoi", she pretty nails how surprised and impressed Migi probably feel at that incredible moment. |
