Synopsis: Yukari died as high school student in a traffic accident. But then she had been reincarnated as the daughter of a count in another world! But strangely, what was waiting for her was a life of poverty. So she decided to make use of the knowledge from her previous life. The first chapter of the manga adaption has also been translated by /ak/. What I found interesting about this series is that this time, we have a female lead in a reincarnation fantasy setting. I'm hoping for some yuri between Liliana and Miina. Pretty tempted to do translations for the novel series, but I'll hold back for now. (Too busy...) Last edited by Karoshi; 2014-11-28 at 04:15. |

Those villagers are too good people. If I were Miina's dad, I would complain to MC's father "why didn't you tell us sooner! Are you keeping the method for just yourself!? Selfish bastard! You betrayed us!"
To be honest, I was really expecting this when Miina told her dad about the leaf mold thing but it seems the villagers are better people than I thought? (may be I'm just too evil?)

^It is. It should be obvious from the start it's a shoujo LN...
I mean, Regina Books... Just searching that label would give you the shoujo-oriented results. (And before people try to debunk me, LN--or rather, bunko for girls exist. Kyou-Kara Maou, Hakushaku to Yousei etc.)

I was expecting this will be something like spice and wolf or maouyuu
since in synopsis she said something like "born from a poor nobles and helps them with his knowledge from present japan" i was disappointed how she wasn't cunning like holo or the crimson scholar in micro or macro management but then again im not disappointed in the content of this novel, this is quite interesting. ill be hoping to see more great things in the future release EDIT: hey shoulndt the engilsh name be like "Eh? Isn't that normal??" or "Eh? That's normal isn't it??" |

Wow I didn't even started read and I already annoyed with content. Seriously what kind of medieval-ish smallholder doesn't even know how fertilise field? Prehistoric guys knew that much (completely different issue would be teaching them how rotate crop)
That said ...female protagonist? Well that's new in reincarnation genre. I will give a shot, if nothing else at least as excuse drop Arifureta.

I am not sure about that. It could be an isolated invention happen in several areas without coming to the popular attention.
Example: I am in Vietnam, and we have a pretty good collection of oral and written tales of old time's agriculture... Not much mention of leaf mold. Natural excereta compost, sure. But not the forest stuff. Hunt, gather, etc... Still, the limitation of the setting is that there's not much mention of flora and/or fauna. The crop rotation method require some plants to be grown on the fallow fields... How the heck does a sixteen year old girl who just live shelteredly in another environment for a few years know which type of plant to use for that? Unless she's a plant maniac. Ditto with a japanese method of using water plant for natural compost. It require that she knows which plant is suitable in the first place. |
