Funnily enough, I think that's what a few of us expected the whole series to be, though I don't mind at all the direction the series took.

A shame Nagato wasn't sillier in this episode like in the 4koma, though.

We should be back with Fubuki and the new gang next week, and hopefully, plenty of tsundere twintail goodness.

Really don't want to know how much companies make with ship models per year so yeah that might qualify for the folklore/myth/legend. And even if it doesn't - its a myth in the first place :P
So basically kanmusu are tsukumogami.

I did say "for this episode". Not that it was dealbraking or anything, and I do admit the idea of Nagato not being good with spicy curry is relatable to me.

Kanmusu are whatever you want them to be, really. Some can even use plane shikigami.

Remember how Mutsu is saying that Nagato sucks at displaying her true feelings and emotions? Imagine what happens if she does:

In regards to that, I really wished to see Jun'you, Ryuujou and Hiyou in the anime sending out their planes with their shikigami...

That is why I said Nagamon is a lolicon. She gave the prize to the 6DD out of biasedness.

I thought akagi and aircraft carriers in general consumed bauxite because it costs bauxite to resupply planes when they get shot down. And usually, I think bauxite is drawn as rice in the fan drawings?

Can't wait to finally get my CV episode next week.

And this was like the only episode where Fubuki gets like 1 minute of screen time

The true protagonist of the episode was indeed 6th Destroyer Division :3

Ep.6 is what I like to see in Kancolle anime - SOL and silly story with fun characters interection. (I'm not saying the battle ep. is bad)

It is nice that they present this ep. from 6th destroyer division's POV. Their interection with each other and withother fleet member is perfect.

Still, it is too bad that we don't see them interact with Fubuki or see them going in battle. Since they were selected to escort Akagi's carrier division (which is Fubuki's goal) they should be good in battle somehow.

Also, I think I found my new favorite OST from this anime. It is the song that play in the background during the scene where Nagato is encouraging Akatsukis to keep trying after their failed expedition.

BTW, can someone explain me what/who did people actually refer to when they use to word 'crane'. I have seen this word a lot in but never understand it.

The serious tone I'm referring to is the fact that the battle with the abyssal fleet is a matter of life and death/sinking and not some kind of sport activity the school girls have to do. Every episode so far had at least one mayor scene reminding us of this.
In this episode it was basically only the first 30sec and the rest was comedy. I would never say that the anime is a drama or something like that, but I never imagined they would take the war scenario that serious.

Shōkaku (Japanese: 翔鶴 "Soaring Crane")

During WW II, the Japanese named their aircraft carriers after various dragons or, in the case of Shoukaku and Zuikaku, cranes. Kaga and Akagi doesn't fit this naming convention because they were converted from battleships.

5CarDiv. Shoukaku and Zuikaku means Soaring Crane and Auspicious Crane respectively. Hence they are known as the Crane sisters.

Or Kaga would put it, the Crane and the Turkey.

Nothing can beat pothead Hibiki. Also, it was fun seeing Naka being the down to earth one.

I thought it was interesting that Naka didn't flip out like the other (several) times about Kirishima stealing her thunder, but actually adapted and played the straight man in the routine.

Well, someone had to, since Kirishima utterly lost it.
