Coming back to anime after a few years.

Hey everyone, Haven't watched anime anime (except Attack on Titan) In like the last 3-4 years, so obviously I have no idea what's been released since then. Just looking for suggestions of any anime from the last 4 years that I haven't watched.

Hmm...Yojouhan Shinwa Taikei is actually 2010, but I'll put it since you haven't watched it.

Puella Magi Madoka Magica is a mandatory recommendation.
Steins; Gate, I think you'll like it
Hyouka
Kyousougiga
Gekkan Shoujo Nozaki-kun
Mawaru Penguindrum
Shin Sekai Yori
Ikoku Meiro no Croisee
Mushishi Zoku Shou
Tonari no Seki-kun
Hyouge Mono
Ping Pong
Jinrui wa Suitai Shimashita!
Danshi Koukosei no.Nichijou
Fate/Zero
Knights of Sidonia
Girls und Panzer
Psycho Pass(sadly, season 2 never happened)

...it seems you won't like Watashi ga Motenai no wa Dou Kangaete mo Omaera ga Warui!...

Currently airing are Kiseijuu and Junketsu no Maria

White Album 2 - probably one of the best handled romance/dramas I have watched as of late. Granted characters committed mistakes but characters are civil and smart enough to handle them in logical way without tons of unnecessary drama.

AnoHana - similar to Key works like Air, Clannad and etc.

Angel Beats - surprised you din't watch it, done by Key.

Bakuman - same creator as Death Note but different style. It is alice of life about manga with small elements of romance.

Chihayafuru - sport anime with tiny hints of romance. Really good.

Kami nomi zo Shiru Sekai - unique, funny romance comedy.

Kokoro Connect - similar to Key works.

If you are ok with other genres like action then:

Akame ga Kill! - people have mixed opinion about it, I personally loved it apart from last several episodes where anime created their original ending and made massive mass just like Claymore.

Fate/Zero

FMA and FMA:Brotherhood - surprised you didn't watch them considering that first season was released back in 2003.

Ghost Hunt - an old one but since you watched shiki, I think you should check this one out. Done by same author.

Tokyo Ghoul

Mahou Shoujo Madoka★Magica

Psycho-Pass

Rainbow: Nisha Rokubou no Shichinin

Shinsekai yori

Uchuu Kyoudai

Zetsuen no Tempest

It's not really like Claymore...Claymore had a non-ending, this one got a pretty conclusive original ending.
I think most people who never read the manga won't have any problem about it.

Double Akame ga Kill and Fate/Zero if you like action stuff.

Akame ga Kill is basically the same style of show as Bleach, but with character death, lots and lots of character death.

Fate/Zero Unlimited Bladeworks is likely one of the best animated shows in recent years with some excellent pacing. They seem to be taking there time to do things properly, and it shows.

Psycho-Pass (session 1) and Stein:Gate are two of the best anime in recent years and I would recommend them to anyone. Through I'll say this about Stein:Gate, this first episode is a little hard to get into, but once you hit episode 2, it gets into a excellence stride and you'll keep wanting to watch the next. The English Dub is great too.

If you like Chibi Vampire Karin then you might want to give Love, Chunibyo & Other Delusions, Mayo Chiki! and My Bride is a Mermaid a look. All nice romances with silly set ups.

Honorable mentions to the recent Amagi Brilliant Park, from the same pen as Full Metal Panic if rather different in material and the ongoing Absolute Zero which while a little bit too flawed to be called epic, is still a nice mix of action and romance, just give it more than one episode to draw you in.

That sounds very confusing. Are you talking about the completed prequel Fate/Zero or the (in spring) ongoing part of the main series Fate/stay night: Unlimited Blade Works (TV)

Cross Game is a charming romance for guys.

There's also the beautiful Romeo x Juliet. Both are older but you didn't include them in your list so.

I didn't read the manga but you can feel where things got changed, it just started to feel weird and take things to dumb extremes.
