"Come along, Father," Icarus shouted over the sound of the wind rushing past them. "Smile, we’ve done it, we’ve escaped and we’re free."
“When my feet are back on solid ground and that island is many, many miles behind us, then you will see me smile,” Daedalus yelled back. “Now, keep your mind on what we have to do and remember, not too high, not too close to the sun.”

That was incredibly intense, I was sitting at the edge of my seat the whole episode! By this point I honestly don't care who wins the race as long as Sakamichi makes it past the finish line. I do wish his mother eventually acknowledges what he's actually doing by the end of this season, I much prefer the parents playing a supportive role (e.g. Baby Steps) - or even simply a role in general - instead of this oblivious behaviour intended as humour... But not really expecting much development there. |

Big day for Yowwpeda, with an original theatrical movie and OAD announced - but no S3 news. I can only assume they're waiting to let the manga rebuild a bigger lead, though they have enough chapters to keep going if they wanted.

Quickie question while I'm remembering to ask it. In the ep 24 end card, who's the blonde with the halo in the background?
Edit: Ah! A thought came to me, is it Midoujshi's (sp?) mother??

I alternate between finding her ignorance hilarious and annoying. If I were Onoda, I'd definitely be pissed, but he's way too nice and humble to get angry at his mom, I guess. One big question I have is where the series goes from here. Will Onoda win again? Does he lose in his second year, and win in the third? Does Imaizumi take first place one of these years? It's so hard to predict. |

Soooo, I'm reading ANN's article about the recent Yen Press manga licenses which included the Yowamushi Pedal manga and at the end of the YowaPeda paragraph was a surprising (to me) statement.

Am I the only one who didn't know the anime had been licensed?!

I knew about the manga license. What I'm saying is that I didn't know about the anime license before reading that article yesterday. Is the anime license for real? Did I miss the anime license announcement somewhere along the line?

Found it!
Discotek Media announced the license for seasons 1 & 2 on December 21, 2014, on their Facebook page. [Source] I don't follow their FB page. (I do now) Plus, coming so close to Christmas, it's no wonder I missed the announcement. Thread prefix updated.
