(Second half was anime original) and the reason why the start of brotherhood was weak was not to make it 1:1 copy of first half of FMA Edit: done watching second episode, op was great though it suck that those three kids MC saved in first episode die in second one..... Couldn't they at-least to save one of them to joined him ? Last edited by Gundamx; 2015-04-18 at 09:34. |

Should have started with this episode 02 as the first episode. If you liked episode 01 good for you, but it was still a waste of time as Kuromitsu and others pointed out.
No those Arslan idol worshipping kids suck. Believe me his band of followers, Daryun, Faranghis et al, are far more worthwhile travel companions. |

Ah, finally CharSilvermask made an appearance. Though my impression of him in this anime iteration is a little bit different from what I read in the novel, it’s still cool .
Aye, Captain Obvious. Let’s compare the merit of fodder characters with the main supporting characters, shall we?

Oh, nothing big. I just got the impression that he was a bit more vicious when he first appeared and encountered Andra in the novel. But maybe it’s just in my head. Narsus/Narses however, pretty much fit my impression on him so far.

*chuckle* That’s like comparing random female students with the main heroines in Clannad or comparing random henchmen with Batman’s main villains. Comparison is not needed as it is already obvious to everyone on who’s better. Hint: Daryun, Farangis, et al are featured prominently in the OP & ED. Doesn’t need a genius to put two and two together .

If you really expect an actual answer, I suggest you go to novel or manga threads (do we have those?). If not, then have fun with your speculations. That's the fun of being a newcomer .

Each time I see the OP/ED I can't help but realize the most existential question of this series is how the archer lady manages to keep her boobs from spilling out. What gives the cloth such adhesive power that they even cling to the underside?!

I love this "If you enjoyed it good for you but it was a waste of time" argument. How was it a waste of time if I (and other people, clearly) enjoyed it? What it really means is "I don't like it so it sucks".
This reminds me a lot of the manga fans steadfastly trying to convince anime viewers that they didn't love the first episode of Hourou Musuko, they only thought they did.

So from the way Silver Mask talked, "do not call him a king", seems like Andragoras obtained the throne falsely. There are lot of speculation one can make from here.
The 16 years of gap would be something happened before Arslan was even conceived so I would think that Arslan and Silver Mask does not have deep connection. But then again we still don't know anything about the circumstance surrounding Arslan's birth. Another thing, Sivler Mask's face is burned on one side or at least scarred. I don't think he burned himself as he is wearing a mask to cover it up. So I can make an assumption that it has to do with something happened 16 years ago. These speculation are rather fun and I am really interested where the story goes, so gonna try my best to stay away from the manga for now. For the episode, Pars to lose over 100 thousand mans, that is really devastating. I believe that number alone is bigger than any Crusade. And because Arslan's world is closer to the medieval era I feel that number seems more devastating. For Pars to recover from this will truly take an arduous effort. Another thing, both, Pars and Lusitania, are truly cruel nations. One promotes slavery while the other slaughters civilians, including children. This really do add another complexity to the story. It just won't be Arslan rising and make Pars strong and end slavery, which makes me look for the story that much more.
