I wish this month could screw off and I wake up tomorrow with Higurashi released, all of FSN released and enjoy my life.

Of course I can, I just figured it'd be faster to do it via instant messaging, and less annoying for the people who want to use this forum for discussion of actual things. I'll post the screenshots in a day or two, most likely.

Yes, those three tracks are by xaki. Hiragana titles are less of a problem, though I wouldn't want to rely on machine translations if possible (which I would were I working alone).

I noticed in the achievement screenshot an old image of Rena is being used, the one where here hat seems to be falling of her head.

Hahah! I just want to eat it. But I would feel it out first. You know, make there aren't any needles inside.

The syringe really gives a nice design to the snack, very Higurashi.

I think it is just you, I only see sprites which we have seen before, images of items and an image of the background of the main menu. The only weird one is the Rena sprite with blood. I don't remember that kind of sprite appearing in the original Higurashi.

Yeah, took notice of that too. Hmm, I don't know. To me the outcome of the sprite is ambiguous. Hopefully, it'll be a good thing. It looks cool.

I don't like the new sprites ;_;
The first achievement seems like a bit of a spoiler, with that icon. The original scene was comparatively ambiguous.

At least you have the option to use the original sprites.

I also don't really like the added Steam features, because they have that ability to spoil some twists and I worry a bit that the achievement popup will break the readers immersion.

They could be unique images made just for the achievements.

Yeah likewise. Achievements don't even mean anything, it's not a video game. It's a linear story, who wants to get an achievement every time you finish a chapter of a book? And they really don't seem to have gone to much effort to avoid minor spoilers.

I realised I should link the recently released 'Higurashi When They Cry Abridged - Onikakushi' video, but it's already been taken down by Frontier Works. I'll keep checking and link it when it's back up, definitely worth watching if you get the chance.
