Seriously though, it feels like Hestia's huge popularity from the first episode got a lot of people interested to watch this anime given she was used as avatar or seen as fanart pretty much everywhere. Even in japan they had a whole booth just with hestia doujinshis. I think she and not Bell was what got many people into the anime first and then Bell carried it from there, mostly at least.

That should be obvious enough. Gods are on the human realms since one thousand of years. You see a LOT of gods having love relationship with mortals everywhere, including gods of beauty that pretty much make a collection of men over the years (and what do you think they did after they got the new man they felt in love with? play chess with him?). Without even talking about all those perverted gods that love red districts. Lots of gods love debauchery. Pleasure. Love between gods and mortals is extremely common in danmachi, and there are gods everywhere. Since 1000 years.
By now, the whole world should have demi gods, quarter gods and whatever EVERYWHERE. Yet, saw a single one in that show? You think, what, Zeus would suddenly have a child 1000 years after coming but that other gods would have kept platonic relationship? Lol, Gods doing that ?

What do you think that mean?
And, if it means this, what do you think it means for the relationship between Zeus and Bell?

Yes, I've read the information you posted; however, to support some poster claims, it is still possible. We don't know why Zeus went back. There is a possibility that he broke a taboo, say father a child, and was discovered and forced to go back to Olympus.

Well, the thing is, we know already. The anime gives you all you need to conclude, but don't help you find the conclusion if you don't think by yourself, yes. But do you think the LN let that answer unanswered until now?

The thing is, in the anime, the world has not been expanded upon. There could be demi-gods out there that we have not seen yet. Heck, there are so many gods that we have not seen yet.

...for a person who have read the LNs and manga, of course I don't see the DanMachi universe as a game. However, provided Omori did include game mechanics in this series, it's hard not to believe he put some of his gaming experiences in the novel.

This is why I have a hunch that some of the descended gods--particularly the combatant ones such as Hestia, Loki, Freya, or Take, were based on gamers he knew. At least, I have to say, provided the behaviour of descended gods in general--particularly their chuunibyou and the occasional use of otaku slang--the group was based on gamers on our universe.

I did not intend to mean the gods are gamers; they are not. But if Omori based them on gamers (and the mortals as player characters), then it's impossible for them to mate.

I disagree. They act like only god could. I've played MMo for years and no one could act like those gods are. Their personality comes from the legend about them rather than from his experience, of that that's certain. Also, the gods don't love chuu2 terms, they love to see other embarrassed by giving them chuu2 terms, which is quite a different mindset compared to lot of players with very embarrassing chuu2 names.
Rather than otaku sland, they use modern japanese slangs used by young japanese peoples, that have nothing to do there. As such, I personaly think that before descending on earth, they were able to see our world as it is right now as well.

Gods have shin'i emanating from them naturally (as Hermes mentioned episode 12), as well as an appearance too "perfect" for mortals. Demi god would have it as well, just less obvious. No way Hestia would miss something like that~ You are seriously underestimating god's ability to see through things in Danmachi.

That's not Hera, that's Freiya. And it was said like... too many time to count even in the anime. Hera isn't even in Orario.

She sees potential in the soul. The fact that even Freiya who can see souls in her current form doesn't detect him as being anything more than a mortal is proof enough that he isn't anything more btw.

Just love it when a source reader comes along and states something should be obvious on a show that hasn't been expanded upon yet. A show we've only met a handful of characters in. A show that's only portrayed one city in a very huge world. I mean its obvious that there was no Zeus in this story...till the last 10 seconds of this season. Until something is stated for sure, we just don't know. This is fiction, things can be changed and added at anytime to support anything.

Your 'obvious' reasons can have more than one explanations. Just because someone gets with the opposite sex doesn't mean you'll get a baby every time. Your notion that there should be demigods everywhere is far fetched. Greek mythology was around for far longer than 1000 years and they didn't have demigods everywhere.

Its quite simple how to proceed. If its not in the anime don't talk about it. Don't bring more attention to a subject matter by arguing about it with multiple anime only watchers. We're all allowed to believe what we want based upon the information provided in the anime.

HA, I've been lacking behind Anime as of late. It's just nothing looked good in my opinion with Anime in the year 2014. Now we are in the year 2015 and again my opinion Anime seem better. Now I didn't read the manga adoptation so I just watched the Anime and loved it, reminded me a mix of other series I love. Glad a pairing was canon for once, I had a couple of pairings I liked, was it me or did the main character sound like Slink from the series Dog Days? Any ways, loved it over all.

Though, one thing I didn't understand. What was the point of that woman who was watching over him becoming stronger? They never meet in the Anime

That lady, named Freya, is totally obsessed over Bell's progress, and she was responsible for most of the things Bell has to deal with, all to see Bell kick some ass.

To be clearer Freya is very deeply infatuated with Bell as the strong purity of his soul is what attracts her. She delights in watching him grow stronger as his soul grows with him. He's like a brand new toy to her, currently her favorite. She doesn't directly interfere as he's far more interesting to her if left to continue to grow rather than taking him now as she prefers him alive rather than dead and having to capture his soul in heaven.
