Too much fillers.... D:
It seems that the anime is a bit more fluffy/ dramaish than the manga. Which was bit more dark, and let's just say mature. It was seinen after all if I remember correct I like all of the undertoning of the anime through, the OP and ED especially.

Ikr! That one is just fantastic, still makes me laugh whenever I watch it. That "Okari" when that zombie raises from the grave gets me everytime. xD

Everybody who reads the manga knows though that Kurumiki is the OTP. :P Quote:
As for Taromarou, given the "Taromarou of the dead" book at the preview for next episode, I guess we will get the whole pool thing because Yuki noticed the other girls being all tense due what they found out and during or after it Taromarou somehow gets bitten which throws the whole happy moe moment into chaos. At least I think they are wasting so much time on Taromarou so that we will feel more for his death or better for the girls when he dies or turns or both. Quote:
Given that the shelter wasn't used by our heroines means the whole disaster preventation plan was a disaster itself as people died too quickly to respond to where they could get to safety. Though I doubt many people knew about such shelters anyway given the mannuals constractions when to be opened. I found Megu-nee's scribblings in her book in the preview pretty sad. Writing down your last thoughts as your mind crumbles and your body slowly gives in to the virus must be terrible. The whole "Love" and "hunger" and then the names of Yuki, Rii and Kurumi reminded me of that Rea Zombie girl where zombies desire to eat who they love. Since the zombies follow parts of their memories I could see them wanting to eat their loved ones the most.

Hmm, I could be wrong, but I feel the biggest significance of the world setting could lies with how it will be affecting the girls after they know the truth. In the way that last line "A kind and sympathetic heart is no longer a virtue" resonated heavily and Kurumi banging the table in anger, I think the truth will slowly crush the girls as the series progress. Idk if that eventually meant they took the time to give the world a setting and then choose to make light of it, maybe the show can find a happy medium to push and expand on the world view, but imo we definitely would see it partake strongly in the psychology drama surrounding the girls which anyway seems to be one of the show's true calling.

Ep 08
Well then ... after the reveal of Megu-nee in a zombified state at present and the zombie outbreak being related to some kind of biochemical weapon and such like things definitely appear ... grim. Yeesh. Still, am continuing to enjoy the series. I especially liked the glimpses we were given in Yuri this episode.

I did really enjoy that little scene of reconciliation with Taroumaru and Miki. A big thing that turned the ignoring of Miki from comical to a bit sad was that flashback. In a sense you could say that Kei helped bring those two back together. That trio spent a lot of time together in that mall so it's nice that the two that are still together are finally no longer distanced. Big props to Taroumaru for letting what happened go.
Though now I'm a bit worried about him with that ending scene. Running into the zombie Megu-nee. I'm sure he can outrun a zombie, but still....hopefully doesn't run into too much danger there. A fun episode where the cast kind of needed it. Plus now they have another place to investigate. If that place functioned as a kind of bomb shelter it's possible....well at least there's a possibility they can find additional supplies and maybe a secure area they can enjoy.

Episode 9
Well, not much happened here. Mostly them fooling around and stuff. They came to the obvious conclusion that this bio weapon stuff was expected. The interesting bits were the inu suddenly running off after sensing something, howling and getting a reply from somewhere, and, of course, zombie Megu-nee roaming in the basement where the escape route is supposed to be. Now to see what happens when they reunite. Will Takeya come back to reality or not after seeing Megu-nee in this state? I hope so. |

It was nice to see Taroumaru and Miki finally able to interact without him running away. Losing Kei hit them both pretty hard. Props to Taroumaru for letting go of the past and finally reconciling with Miki.
Zombie Megu-nee has appeared but I'm sure that Taroumaru can outrun her. Though I have to wonder how Megu-nee got all the way down there when we last saw her locked on the roof.
