I can't stand the moment Seri watching Hiroto recording, seriously its too cruel from our viewpoint.

Canon get power to select the future, literally, and ended up find new Fafner in Dreizehn cage.

Sweet Jesus, looked at what happend to Olga, that was nasty. Obviously, the question is, how much did Canon change the future? Only indicator is the new Fafner, which I think might have something to do with the new Plan L.

The Second L Plan has nothing to do with the new Fafner if you know about the original L Plan. The original is just......I guess you should see for yourself lol.

Also, from the Japanese magazines, the new Fafner is a totally new one, not an upgraded Dreizehn.

I haven't seen Right of Left, and I accidentally looked up the wrong info lol. Now I know what Plan L actually is......yeah, it's got nothing to do with the new Fafner (which looks like a Festum hybrid).

Episode 17 is A FUCKING TEAR GAS.

WHY!? CANON WHY!?!?!?!? WHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY?!

The only possible "future" is together with only Kazuki......and she rejected it.
AND THEN THE FUCKING ENDING SEQUENCE.

Leo's optimism helped Mimika out of her truama, and Sui's parents finally gets over their losses. And there're hope with curing their SPD effects.

I just can't stand why we need another week of stomache for another episode.

I feel like this week's episode and season involves the pilots not just fighting for survival, for the future, but also battling their own personal demons. No doubt some of them are suffering a bit mentally because of their current conditions.

Lovely usage of the soundtrack tbh. That really bought out the tense atmosphere of the episode.

That's absolutely creepy, even though we expected something's wrong with her in the last episode. At least she gets over that with Leo's efforts.

But like what I wrote in my latest post, I just can't fucking sleep without thinking that sequence......

and didnt they say that they stoped the side effect
and if they found away to reverse it kanon may come back she dissapeared and didnt die

I think her death was needed to grow flowers in the cellar. Not the only reason, but probably it was part of it. Maybe it means she is in the same state as Tsubaki now?

This whole thing seems very.. quantum physics to me..

The act of observing a result and thus validating it, and thus effecting reality itself. that reminds me a lot of the "observer effect"

In Canon's case she observed the future where everyone died, thus validating it. You could say that she already doomed them all.

But then they throw another angle that if you fight in the future this someone changes the present? why? Her vision didn't change from what i have seen. It's still littered with corpses and scrap metal.

On the other hand, I understand her decision at the end of this episode. Had she left, it would probably validate the future in which only 2 people are left alive and everyone on the island are dead.

I think still needs more explanation though, particularly to those who aren't familiar with the observer theory. Heck, I'm still confused about things.

Honestly, this is the saddest ep so far in Exodus.
*still controlling my tears from coming down*

IMO, Canon' future vision might be shared with Azazel-type, so by showing the Azazel-type there are possiblities to kill him in future might gives the Azazel-type a hint to avoid this future, thus giving people's in Tatsumiya Island another possibilities where most people can survive. (I mean, looking at the plot so far there are no way everybody can survive >.<)

Or this is just my struggle from thinking Canon died as an observant only.

Quite unusual to see someone die outside the battlefield, and here I was thinking Canon was going to kick ass with her updated Fafner. In a sense she did but her fight was against time itself rather than real enemies. She won but it was a pyrrhic victory because she lost her life in the process.

Waiting for next week will be painful, incoming new OP/ED.

Fafner solidifies its place yet again in the pantheon of hyper-convoluted yet tear-impelling animes. Possibly near the top of the list. I'm not going to pretend to have a full grasp of what happened in this ep but the amount of new plot threads introduced is rather striking. D

And has everyone else grasped the correlation between Kanon's role in in altering the course of events and her name?

You may be on to something here. And it does not matter what quantum physics really is - what matters is what writer thinks it is You don't need expert

~500 years ago people believed in geocentrism. That Earth is the center of the Universe. That belief did not survive collision with harsh reality, but it foundation lies deep in human nature. And guess what? Human nature did not changed

When physicists stumbled upon QM ~100 years ago... The explanation they come up with strongly resembles geocentrism in the sense that it tries to protect our self image, our deep (and perfectly healthy) belief that we are the center of the Universe.

Unfortunately, however indispensable that belief might be for development of our personalities, it is false. Reality of QM pretty much shutters it. Well, we are not 5 years old children so it is just somewhat unpleasant But guess what happens when someone says to you something that makes you feel uneasy?

I myself was fascinated (and confused) by QM for a long time, so when I came across An Intuitive Explanation of Quantum Mechanics I did not expect much. Just another explanation that kind-of makes more sense than that "observer" thingy. Actually I was pretty sure that I already know about it. I knew about it indeed, but the way it was explained... It turned out I already had all pieces of the puzzle and that was explanation how to put them together. And it was SIMPLE. I laughed! THAT is the thing Heisenberg, Bohr, Einstein failed to understand? THAT? Incredible trill of discovery. But it also humbling and still sends chill along my spine when I think about what it really mean about who I am. Article is as simple as it gets, but not short: it took me few days to read (mainly not volume, just had to think about it). Of course same effect is not guaranteed for you, may be I just got lucky, but I tried to provide you with best available to me information so now it is your call whether you want to try it

But on the reality side, Canon's loss is pretty big to the defence team. She's the most experienced, strong-willed combatant among them and doesn't lose her touch at all. Her loss doesn't only mean a Fafner is unusable, but also the core of the team. If there's anytime the Walker launch a full-front assault it's probably now.

The only hope is probably what she left: Einherjar Model.

Not after Sui, Mika and Leo problem solved and they finally resolved to keep moving forward with their 'disease'.

At the end, it does raise the question, what Canon learned hence the conclusion to eliminate her own self?
