As for the rest, I think it was good. Koyasu and Sugita were godly, especially Koyasu. It's like those two were born for these roles.

Yeah, that was the scene I was looking forward to the most. I wanted to see how they would tackle adapting it, since it seemed like it would be tricky. Plus, Gin's expression...

And Koyasu... God, that man stole the entire episode.

Man, what a heavy episode.

A couple of things that were made clearer to me after the anime;

1) Takasugi did not hear sensei's last words.
2) "You can put an end to everything by piercing that chest with a sword!" I was slow in recognizing this as a Gintoki quote. Added a bit more context to Takasugi's hatred when I realized that.

I love Gintama.

I liked the decision to show the "bonds" and "hatred" scene from Takasugi's POV, but in regards to the beheading... Not so much. If they were going to show two perspectives, they should have put the commercial break between them, like we got in chapters 519 and 520, rather than that awkward break (Edit: Hmm, I've come to appreciate this a bit more after a couple more watches).

I felt that scene wasn't done well, too. Felt uninspired and they don't know what to do with it.

Wow, that was an amazing episode. I almost cried in a few scenes, you have really feel for both of these Guy's. And man such a heavy burden to have, poor Gintoki no wonder he didn't want to take care Shimpachi and Kagura at first.

Animation was beautiful and the Voice acting man, they really out did themselves. You can always count on them when it comes to these types of scenes.

Gintoki is such an awesome main character. Hopefully will see the next arc Animated soon, another important one that needs to be seen by Anime only fans.

That part was friggin' intense. Koyasu just nailed this episode so hard. Next episode should adapt another scene I'm looking forward to. Sugita should do it justice.

Also, imagine Takasugi is speaking during all the comical roles (I take no blame if anyone's perception of him is completely marred after this).

The Bobobo role (3:20) reminded me so much of how Gintoki speaks.

Dammit, Banrise. Their budget is almost dead, isn't it? A good episode overall, if you ignore the crapload of derps, but the scenes I was looking forward to most were almost completely butchered. :/

That Ginpachi-sensei though. Even though I already knew what "happened," hearing Shouyo-sensei say those lines cracked me up so hard.

I agree you could tell they are running out of budget. Outside of Kagura vs Kamui at the beginning, the episode looked pretty dull.

gintama is the second most watched series in tokyo though from what i saw.

I think Zura is now more focus on performing Rakugo (along with Shouyo-sensei) instead of being a Joi Patriot. (VA joke ) Just like Baka Prince threatening to 'switch' to another show on earlier episodes...
