Although it honestly makes almost no sense to send a battleship after a destroyer, not the least of which is the sheer difference in top speed and endurance.

It seems that the damage to the rice cooker was superficial. Provided the internal trough's structural integrity was not compromised (which would cause unnecessary escape of steam and halt its function), it could still work

I watched episode 2 live. It's gotten real.
-Sarushima sank. Harekaze declared having mutinied -Mike ordered a blackout of all other communication equipment until the ship reached Torishima. -Communication to Yokosuka remains cut off -Graf Spee the battleship from Wilhelmshaven school opened fire on the Harekaze without hailing them -Mike decided to use live ammo, and both her and Shiro turned the key to authorize the use of live fire -Harekaze barely made it out alive -Moka SOS'd Mike at the very end of the episode. Japan's sinking after the Russo-Japanese war of 1905 from Methane clathrate, a highly efficient fuel.

Wow, this show has been quite exciting with the naval warfare content.
Nice OP song as well and we also got a bit of characterization and flashbacks. That cliffhanger has my excited for the next episode as well. Dark horse of the season, calling it now.

Interesting...
There is some implication going on in this show. In particular, it is possible that heaver-than-air flying was never invented. The talk about helium and hydrogen balloons suggest that they never left the zeppelin age. This explains the absence of Aircraft Carriers. And all of a sudden battleships are back in business. Consider that Japan is now a series of islands, if they had planes they would have used them more often. But we haven't seen any...

Ep.2
We all get tricked to think this would be pure SOL ep... Ahahaha. That was enjoyable naval warfare. So they have decided to use the live ammo. Look like engine room crews are not so found of Mike so far.... Actually, they are only one group that seem to 'dislike' Mike, especially 'Kuro' and 'Maron'. Also, I just found out that 'Kuro' and 'Maron' are main characters in prequel manga. Musashi calls for help...? Not sure sure if Moeka really call for help or it will be a trap. However, if it is the later, it will be nice ep.3 twist.

Ok, maybe we aren't getting double rused after all. The sarushima sank? What kind of conspiracy is taking place here?!
Gotta say, poor Mashiro's burden is way bigger than I thought, I'm surprised she isn't way grouchier about the whole situation. Maybe she's just used to the fukou da already Good to see the faces of the rest of the crew, and getting ships for them as well. Talk about thoughtful, and I'm not being sarcastic. That sort of battles usually isn't my thing, but I did get excited this instance, and boy, that was an extreme way of introducing a transfer student. Already looking forward to next week. |

Episode 2 is really setting the tone for "WHAT THE HELL IS GOING ON HERE", with all of the mysterious things they keep throwing, from the Admiral Spee attacking the Harekaze, to one of its crewmembers abandoning ship, and finally Moka's distress call.
The conspiracy behind everything better be good, because so far I have no idea what the hell the endgame is supposed to be. Also, the Harekaze has some wicked looking jetskis, I want one!
