Where did you get that? There's a hundred thousand at most. The situation is analogical or even harsher than that of Oculus Rift and HTC Vive now. There's limited availability of proprietary VR headset, with the second wave of headsets being released around volume 5 (the siblings got theirs then). Apparently beta alone lasted only for two weeks and only a thousand or two people participated in it. Most likely the headsets are not only helluva expensive but also their production is very limited.

Even if Yun hasn't seen a Yellow Pot before, that doesn't mean that there aren't other player's producing it. And you can't use the popularity of Atelier as an excuse, as a decent amount of that is seen to come from Pretty Girl Attraction, combined with the fact that Yun's creations are of actually good quality. Those combined create a good advertisement for the shop, and player's who'll go there over a shop with a couple of % better healing. Though, if Yun does fall significantly behind other Disposable Crafter's, people would end up not going to her shop as regularly.

Of course there isn't. Yun is the only one (so far). Reason being simple - Mikadzuchi's guild was the first to venture as deep into that new zone and Yun was there with him. Mikadzuchi's guild members also are working on reproducing the Yellow Potion but Yun was just faster. That's about it.

I think the reason Yun can be considered top is because she has a steady source of ingredients. Her farming fields allows her to make more consumables while other crafters have to wait for stocks to replenish in the NPC shops.

Also its noted that players mainly follow the wiki and make cookie-cutter builds based on what players perceived as optimal builds.

I started reading this a few days ago... and already read everything. It was very enjoyable - many thanks to krytyk for translating it.

It's interesting to see a game based story where the game is just a game to be enjoyed. I think the choice of the MC being a supporter/crafter type was the right one. If I have one complaint about the "world building" is that the way the mobs fight is more or less what we see in games today, despite the existence of highly capable AI for the NPCs.

I was also a bit surprised that the MC's reaction to new eq that does things like "halves max HP but increases stats" - wouldn't that be ideal for a crafter type? Anyway, I guess we'll see when volume 9 comes out (20th May according to Amazon) and is translated.

TBH OSO chance at an anime is actually rather high, mainly because of how offstream it is from most novels and manga, even within it's own genre of VRMMO.

Well, it's certainly not bad for the series to be getting some promotion. If there's going to be an anime announcement any time soon it would probably be when the next novel comes out.

It also occurred to me the other day that the Myu focused side story would be good for an anime version - Yun's story takes a while to really get going, so a bit of focus on Myu at the start would help.

Personally, I'm more concerned about the fact that Yun did something to to annoy Ryui enough to headbut her in the gut. Seriously, Yun, what did you do to annoy Ryui like that? Give away his greatly anticipated sweets, or get yourself an easily avoided death penalty?
