This is exactly the situation that can get you stabbed your back, sliced to pieces or whatever. I don't know a girl that is gonna go take a knife because you invited her to your harem (I know many that would try to kick you to your balls and then go away, or just ignore you forever after though), but exactly this kind of prolonged uncertainity causes enormous amount of stress.
Your wife is not gonna kill you because you had sex with another woman, but she might kill you if you have a lover and she gets under enormous amount of stress. People under high amounts of stress oftentimes shortcircut their thinking and do thinks they would not do normally.

So the smartest would be inviting them openly into the harem and giving them stable position there (most might refuse, of course), OR just never be for prolonged time with more than 1 girl under 60, or equivalent unproductive age in whatever race it is (such age limit might not exist for high elves, vampires, gods, dragons and similar existences).

I lived my whole childhood life in Osaka, never seen a hashimaki or heard of it. The first time I saw one was when I visited Hiroshima.
