Dunno guys. I look down on JSDF and Japanese self-awareness a lot. Maybe I'm a little biased about it due to reading a lot of LNs/WNs that shows only spineless Japanese, but I actually read tons of articles about different countries self-defence forces and based on them can rate JSDF "better than nothing" at best.

Also regarding "adaptiveness" of Japanese people. They just like to suffer. Suffer a lot and for no reason. And I don't know why. Can write article about it, but don't have time.

While JSDF might be not the most well combat proven army and probably hardly strong enough to fight for exapmle China alone, we are not speaking about fighting a well trained and armed army, we are speaking about fighting a bunch of zombies uncapable of properly using even small arms (even if the intellect stayd the same most of the zombies will come from civilians), not even speaking of procuring them. In term of sheer training and reaction , JSDF is actually among the better one out there, since JSDF is trained and frequently deal with nature disaster. There is also SAT. go rad some article, actual one and not novel or manga.

337 people per km2 is current Japanese population scale, this is a relatively high number, however, taken in account the diffenrents in City and countryside. From looking at some of the Japanese rural areas, Japan is overpopulated at all, instead Japan look more like underpopulated.

unfortunately no, using actual infection as scale, even Ebola didn't make it past 1 month before getting quarantined, and it's only because of it origin being Africa. Japan has one of the more impressive supervising camera system out there. Unless the Zombie appear in the countryside, it'd only took a few hours before they got caught on camera if they are in the city. And FYI, Japanese urban is underpopulated, don't count the police in, i'm talking about actual SAT that is specially deal with terrorist. Using US army as standard, Japan is only the size of california, so 250k is actually rather overkill for an army.

Kamachi is making a continuation. This time we also have character designs to accompany the cover illustration. I think the only ones for the first part were Ayumi and Erika's that were shown in a magazine.

Seems like Js06 is continuing the translation of this one after finishing NT16. Chapter 1 was translated, and it has the start of the conflict between zombies and vampires. Naturally, all the players spawned at the local school. Not much fighting between the two species so far, but we can clearly see the difference in infection speed when Ayumi has over 70 zombies while Erika is finishing turning a teacher into a vampire. Luckily, zombies are complete idiots, or she may have lost the fight right there.

Spoiler for Chapters 2 & 3:

A lot of back and forth between Erika and Ayumi's forces as the city falls into chaos, with Erika manipulating the humans to have people that can move during the day and Ayumi countering that with zombified animals...and moss, since apparently plants can be zombified too. Weird. Satori reminds me of Shinobu, both smart guys who can get a bit carried away by his desires. Thankfully, his knowledge is coming handy. I liked his reaction to the zombie poodle and the zombie anaconda. The vampires came up with a very gross plan to use kamikazes to take out the bigger zombie animals, and chapter 3 ends with Erika having the Class Rep and Ayumi having Satori. Night approaches, so vampires will have the advantage.

The extra parts at the end of each chapter reveal Kukyou City has probably another purpose besides studying disaster prevention, an some kind of group is seemingly controlling the city. Given the mention of Archenemies being common to the city, the Bright Cross organization mentioned in chapter 1 is suspicious. Maybe it's some kind of anti-archenemy organization, given its 1500 year history. Zombies and vampires are just another kind of plagues.

More back and forth between the two forces. Satori and Ayumi come up with a good plan to isolate and weaken the vampires by exploiting the common weakeness of crossing water, allowing the zombies to regain the upper hand. Unfortunately, it turns out that Erika mentioning the Upior in C3 was important: she was trying to get one by transforming a lot of people into vampires, because its OP power of killing anyone who hears it ringing a bell during the night and the ability to transform dead people into vampires. On top of that, it is immune to sunlight.

I had never heard of the Upior. Besides the Doppelganger (who's apparently a type of vampire in this universe), Erika mentioned a few more types in passing that I had also never heard of; so it was interesting to look those names up.

Spoiler for Chapters 6-8:

Satori, Maxwell and Ayumi manage to get a safe shelter by taking over a building, since vampires need permission to enter. Unfortunately, Erika knows Satori, so she uses his pervert nature to trick him into giving her permission. However, Satori redeems himself from that mistake by coming up with ways to trick and kill the newborn vampires, who aren't as experienced as Erika. Erika doesn't like this one bit, so she goes full destruction mode. As in "dropping 650 tons of bats into the Eartg from the ozone layer at 1km/s" mode. Kamachi still manages to surprise me with this kind of crazy stuff.

The impact wipes out the district, and Satori and the others are forced to take refuge in a mysterious underground area Ayumi knows. Things go dark pretty fast, as it turns out that beneath the overall nice Kukyou City that even has Archenemies living normal lives and going to school there's a facility where Archenemies are jailed. The Archenemies there are tested to see if they can adapt to normal society. If they can, they are apparently allowed to live with humans, like Ayumi and Erika do. If they don't, they are disposed of in a pretty gruesome way. Or even forced to fight each other, colosseum style, so that they kill each other. Behind all this? The Bright Cross, obviously, you don't introduce a large, old group like that and not have it be part of a conspiracy.

Also, turns out Werewolves, Berserks and freaking Shoggoths are a thing in this world. Maybe it's because the artist is also Mahaya, but this webnovel starts to seem like a way for Kamachi to delve into Western monsters that were left aside in Zashiki Warashi (Understandable, since the series was focused in Youkai).

If you don't mind the spoilers, this is what I could gather from a visit to the Japanese wiki and the character illustrations of the 2nd arc.

The arc seems to deal with Bright Cross Colosseum, as Archenemies are forced to fight each other. The arc's heroine is Itou Helen, a Circe (Greek Witch). The Archenemies she faces are a mermaid, a Leanan sídhe, an elf and a valkyrie. Scylla is also mentioned.
