It was an 'event battle', if I remember, it was something like Shiki, Mio & Makoto vs Root; Root having been turned berserk and mindless by an ancient item and the trio had to calm him down and not letting him rampage. It gave me the impression that if Root when 1 on 1 with anyone of those 3, he would have lost (let's not even mention 3 vs 1). The only interesting stuff about it was that, if I remember; Makoto made use of a large scale combo technique using Mio's & Shiki's & his own abilities; that's for about it

The problem is, the question isn't whether or not Root was/is completely brainwashed, it's how it was done, who did it, and whether it was on purpose. Given how out-of-character Root's acting, and how well the Author has written his character progressions, I'm fairly confident that it was done on purpose. If I give benefit of the doubt to the Five Immortal World Travelers, then the only one to blame is Root's dead Husband, who could have easily traded lifespan for the ability to brainwash women/people (aka, empowered version of Trashmoki's main Power with significant drawbacks) expecting to become immortal but dying before he could actually do so due to enslaving/brainwashing Root. Which explains why the other Five got to share Root's bed, he took her, had his fun, got bored, passed her onto his friends/"friends"/"Possibly Brainwashed Male Followers" while he went around sampling new people.

Please note, that's actually one of the BETTER possibilities I can think up for that situation. Because, from what has been said, I, personally, find it quite likely that Root has previously been brainwashed, and I am INCREDIBLY suspicious of the Five Immortals disappearing and then suddenly reappearing.

That's an interesting theory. Hopefully it comes true since it really is out of character for Root to act like that. Their (5 immortals) coincidental appearance is very foreboding. Since the BUG summoned someone like Trashmoki, whats stopping her from summoning people like him in the past too? Root's goal should have been to oppose the BUG covertly, if so it could be an act... or not.

Oh. so that was it. Not just the husband, I was wondering why I was not fond of the other immortals. because they had the heart to enjoy root knowing that she was the wife of their friend. *nod* *nod*. either they are really bastards or they too could have been brainwashed. For now I believe they are the former. lol. But that is just speculation.

Just a background. MCs aim is to go the 20th floor basement of labrynith to seek assistance from a group of mercenaries (named "Picnic Rose Garden") on the ongoing tsuige independence from Aion.

Then 5 immortals, 2 girls (ギネビア、ハクモクレン) the have only appeared once when they saved a princess of kannaoi (osakabe house). But they called the grandfather of the princess "that child", so I assume they were immortals. So right now not sure what their stance is. By the way, the princess is currently under the care of the MC.

Then 3 guys (六夜(roka), アズノワール(Azu), 緋綱(hitsuna)). Roka-san was the one who told the story of the past to MC. He thinks MC is a good guy. But the admin of the labrynith (not named but I think it is hitsuna) thinks negatively of MC. One of the girls(trashmoki slave) that MC killed was a friend of a picnic rose garden member named pionne. The problem is pionne had a good impression since she helped a lot in the labrynith and supposedly had a hard time taking the enslaved girl friend to Hitsuna to release her from the curse. Sadly, MC killed the girl even before they could meet. Because of this it seems that when MC reaches 20th floor, he needs to fight them. Roka-san said let's give our best to kill each other to the MC. (Im not liking this roka really, I feel he is like root in how he deals with things)

Azu considers MC as a gray area. Azu is linked to Toa. Azu swore to protect toa and rinon because they are the descendants of certain bloodline, but he was too late since they were already saved by MC. Now the dagger(heirloom) that Toa was searching for has also an important role. It seems MC created an almost identical copy and gave to Toa. Toa does not notice but Azu did but he did not ask further Toa. He heard story of Toa and MC from root. He is wary if the MC is planning something using Toa, so MC is in the grey.

Nah, it seems that they needed the bug's help to build the system so they are weaker than her.
How the immortality works is still not explained. In terms of strength, they are the top of their class (assassin, knight, etc). For example, roka as an assassin, was not detected by Tomoe and MC when he suddenly appeared in the room where they were at. And not sure how but roka was able to identify Tomoe as a dragon and Mio as the spider. They have unknown skills as of now.

Older sisters, born while the parents and their children were protected by the blessing from the goddess.
Makoto was born after the protection had worn of (and the parents/sisters were climatized to earths lack of mana).

Unless i am misremembering things, which is not impossible.

No his younger sister doesn't have the blessing. The order of events went like this.

Parents get sent to Earth with Bug's blessing to protect them and help them adjust to Earth.
First child is born. Picks up the blessing from the parent and it protects her too.
Blessing runs out. Parents are not fully used to Earth environment yet but it's not enough to be deadly anymore.
Second child is born. No blessing to protect him and because parents weren't fully adjusted yet, it's a constant fight for survival for him to adapt.
Parents have now totally adjusted/adapted to Earth conditions.
Third child is born. Now that parents have adapted, third child is safe and adapted too.

that doesnt annoy me per se, but the way he does. tomoe also withholds information from makoto or tell the facts later, but the sensation that root gives is of a total agenda, so thats is what i find annoying.
