The way that the appraisal spell was interrupted and Ainz never finished it really makes you wonder how influential to the story that sword may be.

Ainz is worried about any ledgers that may exist that have a detailed listing of what is inside that vault.

You see if Ainz loots the vault of all its magical contents - then the Dwarves might know he looted their greatest treasures and that will seed doubt and ill will towards him and Nazarick.

Ainz is looking at his relationship with the Dwarves from a perspective of a business arrangement, not as a conqueror usurping a nation.

You see in Ainz's mind - that partnership will a much better chance of growing if little to no angst exists within the minds of the Dwarven people.

I mean how would the Dwarves really react when they come to reclaim their lost capitol - and find their vault empty of its greatest treasures?

Ainz is trying to avoid this by simply taking one as his "adventurer's reward" - and one that could be easily overlooked amidst the trove that is in that vault.

That is why Ainz calls Gondo over to see if the item he chose is "safe to take".

That much is obvious. I think "what just happened" was a bad choice of words on my part. It's quite the curve ball in the story and I was just shocked.

Then again, as one of Nazarick's Supreme Beings, Ainz's great wisdom is unfathomable for a mere human like myself.

Now that you mention it, it kind of makes me curious. I wonder how much of the world they would actually leave intact in honor of Ainz if something like that happened. Would it be a total slaughter-fest or would they leave places like Carne village and E-Rantel alone since the Guardians believed that they were incapable of understanding Ainz's purpose for them.

Also, Demiurge always makes me nervous. When Ainz asked about the Empire's benefits and he replied "It will be fine", could he actually be thinking something along the lines of "there will be enough people that have the benefit of sacrificing themselves for the glory of Ainz?"

Spoiler for What we can gather.:

The Epilogue did give a a few key information we just don't how it is related to the next volume.

1. Enri talks about how its been 2 years since her parents death and now she's happily married with Nerf (Nfirea). So Ainz arrived a few days prior to saving them Ainz has been in the world for 2 years. (wow a lot has happened but I don't feel like its been that long)

2. The rune smiths are placed in Carne Village, probable its the second most secure place after Nazarick and all of the people their are loyalist to Ainz. Defensive wise it has 5k goblin army as protection. Dwarves have began making the village more convenient a long side making magic items or rune crafting.

3. Lupusregina told Enri that she wont becoming to the village for a while. And the reason for this is that Ainz has been defeated or killed (girl why do make it so complicated). Well the likelihood of Ainz death is false we all know that, but this just means that the "Epilogue" is happening in the middle or just beyond the first few chapters of the next volume. The NPC's like the Pleiades are being called in and may have assigned missions (must be a big operations and something that will stand out).

Few minor things:
- Enri and Nerf got married yey!
- The goblins even though they came from the item that Ainz gave to Enri do not trust Lupus this may extend to other members of Nazarick.
- Flatchest Vampire Airlines Frost 05 (Frost dragons) are lead by Shalltear? (not sure Lupus really hard to understand) They are used to transport? They have the gate though so eh?
- Enri and to an extension the entire village knows that Ainz is a undead (wanted to see how they reacted really.)
- Lupus seemed to be insecure or troubled when she compared herself to the dragons. Maybe some of the NPC's are insecure because they aren't given orders, well Ainz is to over protective so he doesn't want the NPC to get in danger so he must be prioritizing giving them orders rather than the NPC's.

The next volume may be related to another war which one we don't know. It may be related to the Elf and the theocracy, Lupus did tell a strange tale to Enri about Ainz fall and to me the theocracy is the only country that can threaten Ainz at this point.

Things that may not be covered or just be briefly talked about in the next volume.
- Dragon Kingdom war
- The development of the adventurers
- Quigon (Quagoa) digging some where all I know they are in a worse state that he Lizard tribe.
- The forgemaster (WTF ever happened to him. He had a lot of balls but in the end he was all shit.)

Hope the next volume isn't as linear as this one. We only had the view point of a few characters. I really enjoy Overlord when we get different view points then ends with Ainz just wings it.
