And mroeover if we will atually need the Jet planes on medium and hard- farming them sems so tiresome.

Damnit, just when I'm in Japan. Poor timing, I was expecting late Feb/ early Mar.

Well, the last two Winter Events have been in early February (Feb. 6 for 2015, 10 for 2016) so they're really just following the pattern.

In fact, now that I noticed it, the Events begin at roughly the same time every year.

I am all for more non-IJN ship but I like more with how they made for the last few events the kamusu from the last map more interesting than a destroyer.

There is only one more Japanese capital ship left unaccounted for....Shinano. Unless you go farther back in time or to ships that were not completed in the 1920s (like Tosa for example).

I kind adoubt they will introduce an important ship like Shinano or one opf the more known Ships in a small scale event although small is relative as they can still do another E4 Fall

Last winter's event had only 3 map and had Zara as last reward and the last ''short'' event had Warspite as last reward so I wouldn't link the size of the event with the worth of the reward. But if they do introduce Shirano (now probably less likely to occur now than they have open themselves the option of foreing ship), it's likely to be for a very special occasion.

I would assume they would add to the British and French forces in some way as there are only one ship each so far, with the Americans slowly building up in addition to Saratoga and Iowa.

As much as I want more US ship, especially if they come with great AA equipment (how much time do we have until the abysmal start using jet as well), I expect to see either a second British or French ship before, not than it would be a bad thing.

Thats actually a great fear I got for this event which is why I'm not sure if being stingy with my low bauxite amount is a good idea and whether I should jsut get at least the kikka before then....

Since the abysmal started to use combined fleet, I started to expect them to, sooner or later, get every new advantageous mechanic we get. That's probably better than them getting desperate and to start to use kamikaze plane.

You are most likely right, I should go and do up a calendar of past events.

So, new patchnotes with two new mechanics:

1. Turbines can now be equipped on Reinforcement slots.
2. Installing both an Enhanced Kanhon Type Boiler and a boiler (either Improved Kanhon Type Turbine or New Model High Temperature Boiler) on a Slow ship will increase their speed to Fast.
3. Akashi can now upgrade Engines.
4. The F4F-4 can now be upgraded into the F6F-3, which itself can be be upgraded now.

Oh boy... also, there'll be new quests to acquire both Kanhon Turbine and Boiler, so you can try out the combo for yourself.

They also expand the range of speed to four ranks: slow, high, high plus, and "最速" - max speed; pay attention to that in upcoming winter event.

Or, the Le Fantasque-class DD's, aka the ships that can leave Shimakaze in the dust

Well, the devs can flub a bit via historical basis, and classify the Le Fantasques as CL's (i.e. how the Allies classed them), so Shimakaze can remain the fastest DD

Wouldn't mind it. Historical-wise, Free French Navy have had a Fantasque-class DD as flagship for their fleet.
