Ep 01
The first episode frankly felt ... uninspired. It gives the feel of being trapped in a video game, actually ... which I guess could be used as a "reason" for the clunky animation? A pity....

feels awkward....
English "Meow Meow Meow Meow Meow".... And the random Animal explanation in the middle of episode, lol I think this is more less "educational" anime/ promo, that's why the Animation and Voice Actor are mediocre, "aha ha-ha-ha-ha" And apparently Animals learn to speak perfect Japanese when they transform to Humans even tho they apparently also never saw Humans before... hence why the animals can't recognize what kind of animal Bag-chan is. (I bet somewhere down the line they'll call her a Monkey, lol) Last edited by chaos_animagic; 2017-01-13 at 01:20. |

yea, this series isn't going anywhere... just treat it as a regular PV, nothing special. Tho they probably air so late because otherwise more actual anime fans would bash at it if they were watching anime real-time. |

I have to say, at first, I was really "Uh-huh... (-_-)" towards this anime in the first episode and dropped it, but upon giving it a 2nd try, it was actually... kinda pretty good. The weird voices and graphics get kinda addictive in a while and it can actually be genuinely entertaining.
Two parts I found pretty interesting so far are: Spoiler for as far as ep3 goes:
Oh, and Kanetomo! You know, Chiyo-chan! It's been a while since I've heard her screeching voice in anime. Anyways, man, color me surprised. Oh, and for people that think this is an advertisement or promotional video or something, the game has already ended. There isn't anything to promote.

Also... apparently Birds in Humanoid form can fly without wings, cause i am sure those things on her head hasn't moved the entire episode. Last edited by chaos_animagic; 2017-01-26 at 22:40. |

Then why did they make it in the first place? Probably as big of a mystery as this anime's setting. That said, the ultra low quality interviews are probably done on purpose. It moved when she first took off with Kaban.

Ep 04
Indeed ... I have been slowly pulled back into the series despite the horrific visuals. If only it had a semblance of a normal animation budget this series would probably be more watched. I was not expecting mini post-apocalyptic possibilities in the story. O.O

Really, this show is a lot more interesting then it has any right to be. I actually like the story so far with all the hints of something bad going down in the past. The Friends are living in a post-apocalyptic ruin but most of then do not know it. The story could stand to be tightened up a fair bit, though.

I appreciate it being the tsuchinokko to find a fabled and thought-extinct human. That was pretty clever.
I always thought it was strange that the about-the-animal section would have the friends-version sitting in the cage, but I now wonder if we're actually seeing the attraction. And what does the raccoon want? If only this show wasn't so stupidly ugly. I contemplate nominating this for best SF at years end, just for shits and giggles (I'll probably have forgotten the show by then, if I even finish it - but it's... oddly compelling). |

This anime is certainly the oddball among my picks of the season but I love it very much. I'm very tolerant when it comes to bad animation, so that helps.
I'm a bit hesitant to speculate because I don't expect or see the necessary consistent worldbuilding. In the end, it's still a (man-)children show about anthropomorphic animals. Nevertheless: I'm a bit puzzled about Lucky Beast's "other voice". In ep 4 it's apparently just some recording from before the apocalypse but the first time it seemed to be a real-time attempt at communicating, or do I remember that wrong? Is humanity really nearly extinct or did they just evacuate the park? Because of the ceruleans? Or even just to not interfere with the Friends anymore? |
