I maforfu Tanya anyway. She'd totally shot me herself or send me to a bunker which becomes an artillery target if she had me in her squad because I suck at shooting. xD

Honestly, Tanya in Manga is way more feminine than in Anime or in the LN artwork. Though even in the LN there are Girly Tanya moments from what I heard. Anime Tanya is like 0 Girl though. Even with that photo shot she was cute in a sense of funny/awkward/thousand-mile-stare but in the LN she was adorable af. <3

If the author didn't want people to waifu Tanya, he shouldn't have made her a blonde loli. Come on, he knew what he was doing. That's what sells LNs. Same premise with a shota would have been a flop.

What does adorable af mean?

Tanya is a skinny, short, 11-year girl with the mind of a middle-aged salary man.

I really doubt the author wrote Youjo Senki with the expectation that people would "waifu Tanya".

Af = as ****. Basically internet slang for superdupermegaincredibleultrahighyaddayadda.

The Internet can waifu anything. Really anything.^^
Also Tanya is currently 12/13 in the LN? Maybe if the LN goes differently from what happened in the WN we might see Teen Tanya albeit I doubt she would grow much as her being a small girl killing dozens and hundreds of enemies on the field is part of what makes her so amazing.

Waifu anything and porn of it are two different things. But that does make me wonder if there is a rule number for the waifu statement.

Episode 8:

Too bad the civilians decided to fight with the Republic. They seems to know about what awaits them too. I think Tanya's personality shows a lot about herself this episode considering that she isn't going to let them compromise the mission. Intense episode.

Also a little bit of interesting stuff at the end.
(after the credit song)

Saying that thing is " a little bit of interesting stuff" is an understatement of the size of the war on the old continent, lol.
Also this "little bit" show to where is this season's end pointing.

Spoiler:

Spoiler:
We know Mary won't show up in this season, but for his dad to survive and become Tanya rival this season? Well, I guess this will end the rival argument for those who want to see Tanya have a rival this season....

P.S. I think they change the outro song, because it fulfilled its purpose as Tanya and her battalion in this episode has created a pile of bodies that can reach the heavens.

Actually do anyone know what the lyrics to the new ending song is? because it might tell us what will happen for the last episode like the previous outro song.

Whole episode is almost anime original, vaguely inspired by the event in the novel. Episode 7 already had a huge difference but now it's even clearer.

New ending is nice.

To be fair, I think it's pretty normal for Republican citizens to want to fight for the Republic.

Just made a quick watch while at work.

What do you think it was Tanya's reaction? I didn't saw them as sadistic, but it was too cold. Thoughts about it?

Cold and cruel... but it war after all... if the militia decided to fight using their own town as a shield then it logical choice for the other side to blast them off the map

It was efficient, even killing the ones who might turn into future Republican soldiers. And all of that legally after taking that video proving that the citizens of this city were murderers not following international law by killing their prisoners.

Seems this was the first battle where Tanya's battalion took its first loses. City fights are always ugly even if you are a flying mage with a magic shield and spells and shells.

Interesting that they changed the ED this time, I wonder what that song was about. Probably had something to do with guestuser said about creating a tower of bodies reaching the heavens. After leveling an entire city with all its people in it they surely achieved that.

I think after this battle Tanya's soldiers are all traumatize, killing tons of defenseless people, children and women, does that to your psych. Guess a lot of them became cold-hearted and such to protect themselves, kinda like Grantz did trying to convince himself he is just rescuing prisoners and helping people, trying to blend out all the death around him and when it was no longer possible he cried... and continued to kill.

No wonder Rerugen thinks of Tanya as a monster given the papers she wrote as a CHILD, understanding international law and its interpretations and possibilities more clearly than many adults. Even the Republican Lieutenant Colonel didn't expected that to happen.

Surprised to see Mary's daddy survive, but given god's intervention ofc he would survive such a stab and staying in icecold water for hours. God needs some real challenge for Tanya to call forth his power after all. I mean, this whole episode and I think the past one too with the Fjord attack she didn't prayed and changed her eye color even once, right? God must think this is too easy for Tanya so he ups the difficulty to survive even more.
Their final battle is going to be interesting.

The use of https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Barmaley_Fountain was kind of out of place though.

Spoiler for Tanya:

Only 1 question:
What is not an anachronism is this series?
