I had a Magica Madoka vibe while watching this series. Maybe because the character design of Sana is similar as well as the overall atmosphere? Hmmm...a good start. Will continue with this show.

Episode 3:
Minnie C gives me the creeps... She has to learn and accept that her husband is DEAD and not coming back. Honestly, I don't think she is entirely stable anymore after her husband died and she is probably planning to use Sana to get him back. (even if he does come back somehow, I doubt he'll be 100% the way he was before) Pretty sure this will be a multi-episode arc. I wonder how they plan to save Sana though... But seriously, I wouldn't be surprised if we see more characters like Minnie C in the future.

Now this was a good episode compared to the boring 2 first ones and all thanks to Minnie C, such an interesting background and past, now I see why she acts like that.
Basically Sana has the power to create whatever she wants without any problem and that power makes her incredibly dangerous, Minnie C was the one in charge of finding the truth behind that power but she only wants to use it to revive her husband. My bet is that Minnie C will end dead, and that's because of her selfish wish. One thing that I still dislike about the series is how Sana and Zouroku act like nothing is happening and everything is right, I mean they almost got killed some time ago and they don't even try to find some way to acquire more information about their current situation or at least be more cautious? Anyways, Minnie C fixed this series quite a bit, good episode. Last edited by AB079; 2017-04-16 at 14:21. |

Yeah, that episode was a big improvement in that in Minnie C. we finally get a seriously dangerous enemy (and Noto Mamiko playing dangerous psychopaths with that voice of hers is always a good thing to hear), and they started to fill in more of the backstory.

Unless I'm missing something this episode felt semi-rushed or they skipped over something because all of the sudden the old dude knows someone who just by chance is chasing down the facility and has an Alice of their own. It at least explains glasses girl from episode 1

So there's an good organization that researches the phenomenon and tries to bring down the evil institute huh?
So, as I suspected, most of the Dreams have a specific power - a "card" - they can use, but Sanae is a full on reality warper. Minnie C is messed up. The entire end of the episode was uncomfortable to watch. I feel next episode things will not go so well... for Minnie C. She's messing with power she doesn't understand, and given the ominous title of the next episode, we'll probably see how terrifying the Red Queen can be. |

The rest of it was great. Most of the episode was either really sad or really concerning, and I mean that in a good way. I like antagonistic characters that edge more towards gray like Minnie does. Hopefully, she'll continue to be a very interesting rival.

Haven't seen it yet, I like to wait for a few eps are out...
From the concept, I was wondering if this is 'next level' or 4th density oriented due to their abilities... thought form projection etc... seen in so many scifi formats over the last few decades... add in the whole 'looking glass' and 'Alice' aspects that can be seen in a really 'dark' sense, what with this other trope of the 'evil govt lab' which is not usually portrayed realistically in most media, such as those experiments on humans so popular in Japan and Germany during WW2, programs later taken to USA and Soviet Union... the whole Dorothy or Alice bit can be seen in Monarch Programming which often uses films like The Wizard of Oz, Alice in Wonderland, Pinocchio and Sleeping Beauty for mind programming purposes. This site keeps track of a lot of this as it shows up in our media: https://vigilantcitizen.com/hidden-k...-mind-control/ Quote:

Can't say I was expected too much, but anime/manga seem to use these symbols and esoteric words so much, that you never know when something might sneak through... especially on purpose, such as is sometimes found in tv shows like the FOx show Fringe a few years back... etc. |

Things are still pretty early on and not a lot has been revealed as to the actual nature of those possessing the cards of the Dreams of Alice - in fact, that is partly why the research facility Sana escaped from seems to exist; to identify what thenature of the ability actually is. (And presumably how to control or make use of it, etc.)
As for the nature of the experimentation, not a lot has been shown thus far, but we do know that Sana saw something involving presumably graphic death that horrified her and catalysted her running away. Other Dreams of Alice holders mention that the experiments were unpleasant. Again, perhaps more will come to the surface in time.

Okay that was a really good and interesting episode.
We were able to see what's the intentions behing Zouroku, he just wants to save Sana because she's part of his family right now and without rejecting her for not being human. The way how Sana was tortured was really hard, Minnie C again one of the most interesting characters right now. Basically Sana can use her power to twist the reality and the things that happened around her, no wonder why Minnie C wants her power, with that she can revive her husband in no time. And this conflict isn't even finished, we have more coming next week. |

Ep 04
Oh my frikkin God ... that was ... intense. Wow. I was not expecting Minnie C to shoot Sana and literally shatter her bone! My jaw dropped and I froze for a split second in shock! Man - without any hesitation either. Yeah ... if you ask me Minnie's behavior was way more like an inhuman monster than anything before now. Just ... wow. Another really good episode, and the reveal about Sana puts another unexpected twist on not only her behavior we have seen both before and after her escape but also the ED animation sequence too ... where Sana suddenly appears from liquidy light swirling about, and why she is animated the way she is there. Very interesting....
