Ballroom e Youkoso (Welcome to the Ballroom)
Quote:
Feckless high school student Tatara Fujita wants to be good at something - anything. Unfortunately, he's about as average as a slouchy teen can be. The local bullies know this, and make it a habit to hit him up for cash, but all that changes when the debonair Kaname Sengoku sends them packing. Sengoku's not the neighborhood watch, though. He's a professional ballroom dancer. And once Tatara Fujita gets pulled into the world of the ballroom, his life will never be the same. Source http://www.animenewsnetwork.com/news...-anime/.110413

PV2 comes out. It's still another 30 seconds PV just like the first one but at least we've got to see more designs and animation this time around. The fact that this comes out in Summer and we've already got 2 PVs albeit very short ones might be a good sign that I.G is really taking care of this and on the right track with their schedule. |

Looks like Gaju will be voiced by a new guy while Mako by Morohoshi Sumire which is a great choice imo.

PV 4 is here:
It's a bit awkward seeing how long their necks are when you pause the PV but I'm not complaining since this looks really good in motion. The CG background characters don't really stand out which is great, and I'm liking the small movements in the PV. |

Amazon is going to stream this.
Ugh, I assumed CR was going to get this like most of the other I.G. titles. I'm not particularly interested in this series, but it's disappointing to see Amazon continuing to go after highly anticipated titles and sticking its grubby fingers into something it doesn't give a shit about other than the bottom line, especially after companies like CR worked so hard to get legal streaming to where it is today. Amazon is a cancer to the anime community. |

24 episodes.
Wondering if this is going to be on Amazon Prime in the UK (so far free of the Anime Strike surcharge)? Some stuff is, and some stuff isn't. Update: It is available on Amazon Prime in the UK. |

Episode 1
First of all OP and ED are incredibly good, the music and how it fits this series perfectly is amazing. They did the beginning of the series in a pretty good way, no rushing it at all and the pacing seems quite nice. The only problems are 2, the incredibly long and disproportionate necks that makes everyone looks like some sort of Alien and the animation looks a bit cheap especially in the long shots, the backgrounds are really good tho. By the way, here is the OP: http://www.dailymotion.com/video/x5sqsvo |

It's like Haikyuu, Kiseijuu and So You Think You Can Dance had some kind of twisted threesome and produced an offspring.
Seriously - very good series, but those necks really do take one out of the moment sometimes.

Episode 1:
Well this was quite something. I liked the creativity they poured into the OP song in particular during the walking scenes between the dancing partners. Thought that was kinda neat. The only thing that bothered me slightly was the length of the characters' necks. Tatara has plenty of time for development although my initial impression of him in this first episode is so-so. He definitely feels determined to learn though. I also kinda like how the first episode goes into dance fundamentals already. Kiyoharu is awesome, loved the way he debuted against those bullies. Shizuku also gives off her cool vibe with her personality. Solid first episode.
