That scene at the end where Kushida is hugging Ayanokouji happens in Volume 4. Do you they will adapt volume 4 first then volume 3?

EDIT: As volume 3 has a more fitting ending than Volume 4 if only 1 cour.

My prediction is that they will finish the anime with Volume 3 but put scenes in from Volume 4 to fill up the time but exclude all the scenes that revolve around Karuizawa since based on what's been said here. They seem to neglect her role for some reason.

Looks like the hate they got after replacing Karuizawa with Horikita really had some repercussion between the stafff of the anime(at least I think it did, that's the only explanation I can think of for them do that)...Good.

This take me back to Nurarihyon season 1 which exactly has same problem the director is fan toward series waifu Kanna so made unnecessary addition of her.

Maybe that's the reason why she was added in the main site banner after episode 7. Anime-only viewers are wondering why LN readers like Karuizawa, only to see what happens in V3. Horikita wins again.

Ayankouji doesn't value relationship at this moment. He doesnt see them as a scum, but he would use them as a tool if they are usable at certain situations. Only those with proper emotions would see certain people as scums. Hence the reason why Ayanokouji wont see them that way.

Though I wont mind him developing proper feeling and values towards the guys in Ayanokouji group. The bond they made in just one volume (volume 6) was stronger than the one he made with any of the three idiots (dont even think the thing he had with them could be even be considered a bond. They were just there. And they simply left after feeling a inferiority complex towards Ayanokouji)
