Episode 9:

Another entertaining episode. Funny dwarves.. I was laughing at their reactions to the food and drink. Kuro telepathy talk really surprise some people the first time though...

I'm glad that the writer stuck to the lore of dwarves being master builders and artificers in fantasy. They're small, but can build sturdy houses. And the other one looks like he can make glass mugs too.

Hmm, I'm just against the idea of making a very strong steel door to guard the restaurant door... won't it just attract more attention? Some greedy person might think there's valuable treasure there.

_______________

Second half... arab prince fall in love with the sickly princess from the empire. Now the resto is a bridge for good diplomatic relations.

___________

And oh no!!!!! we are already at episode 9..... this anime will be ending soon.

Seeing those dwarves reminds of the times I go out to at with my friends at restaurants. I always eat a lot, drink a lot and have a lot of fun, but my wallet ends up crying in the next day.

Forgot to say since I did not notice it the first time watching... the small room with the steel door that the dwarves built... it seems the walls of the small room are also made of steel. Looks like they really consider the door to another world a treasure.

Oh, and would also like to mention... since the country of the arabs seems to be not as strong as the empire where the princess lives... the arab prince can't force her to marry him. Well, he better stop being shy and start trying to win her friendship while she still goes to the resto.

Haven't been watching any anime for awhile, glad I pick this one to get back on it. Very light bite size anime that in a way is pretty much the reverse isekai. It's a pity that it's so short, would love to see it deep dive into each scenario but I suppose that's what the novel is about?

So far, Aletta is my favourite character, seeing her getting some good thing in life after living in poverty and discrimination feels good. Her earnest attitude is the potent Moe that I can embrace

Episode 10:

That was a nice episode this week. We even got butterfly fairies in this series!

The meals were delicious as I had anticipated. Yum. I really like the texture they crafted with this even with the small details:

Found the first three episodes of this very uninteresting, without insight, conflict or sympathy. The only obvious reason to keep watching this anime was the adorable demon girl in the grade 10 maid outfit...which is of course a good reason not to watch an anime.

another episode with the "evil chief" keep his smooth plans, to take over the world, now he dominated a full faerie village under his "drugs food" and now they are his "food slavers", he is slowly achieving his "world domination", he also opened a door in a "elven village" and already have one of the elves as his drug slave", now what he need is that elf to temper the others to go to the restaurant and he finally ending have a whole elven town under his control, then all is needed left is he goes for the "demon king" and conquer him with his powerfull drug...

this anime is getting more and more dark as it progress...

One would wonder it takes a skillful, talented chef with a creative & innovative mind can come up with a decent delicious vegetarian dishes, be it a simple one or in a gourmet level.

Meanwhile, I'm apparently trying a beef cutlet curry in CoCo Ichibanya. No pork, though.

I'm curious but I thought spaghetti dough has eggs in it? Unless, he specifically made vegetarian spaghetti for the elves here.

The dough can also be done without eggs. Look no further than how the Chinese, Korean & Japanese make their handmade noodles, which inspired the creation of pasta in the West.

Well, now. The beef cutlet curry rice I ate, all great except the beef cutlet. Lack the beef taste and it felt more like eating pork cutlet. I already made a feedback remark for it for improvement. Could taste even better if they introduce a minced beef cutlet.

Japan already have those called Minchi Katsu (minced cutlets).
As for dry spaghetti on the market they usually do not have egg in it. It spoils faster if you add them.

Yeah, I looked at the ingredient list. 100% wheat flour.

A women traveling alone in a medieval world. I'm glad it's not the kind of series where I have to worry about her safety.

I see. Thanks guys for clearing up the spaghetti issue for me.

@Anh_Minh: For some episodes/worlds, I get a sense that there are wars and dangers out there but the series doesn't focus on that. In fact, the restaurant feels very much like a reprieve for these characters.

the curious faeries were fun to watch.
no food for the guardian though.

Guess only one person + a guest is allowed to enter? But since fairies are small, it allowed x number that would equal 2 people.

Of course, being japanese series, you gotta get that natto + rice in there.

Not all Japanese Youshoku restaurants would usually serve some simple Japanese dishes other than donburi dishes, but that makes it distinctive from an ordinary Western restaurant. Even a Western-Chinese/Korean fusion restaurants do the same as well.

Watched episode 10:

Liked the first half... I noticed that both the mermaid and the half-elf glowed blue when viewed by the faeire queen - which means they'r both magic users? It's a good thing the faeries approached Victoria and not hamburger mermaid... because the half elf knows what the faeires want to eat - and half elf has plenty of money to keep paying for the crepes.

Hmm, is faerie seed really that valuable? I guess reading the novel would be needed...

Oh, and I found out that Victoria is voiced by Yukari Tamura. One of my favourite seiyuu. ^___^

Hmm, and Red is voiced by Itou Shizuka... honestly didn't recognize her voice there. One more favorite seiyuu in this anime. hehe

I don't think it is a spoiler because there is no plot explanations, but just in case...
Spoiler for door opening:

Doesn't seem that surprising to me. It's a matter of accessibility. If something's common in your region and easy to harvest, then it won't be worth much as most people won't pay for something they can grab whenever they want. If it's available in abundance through a short and safe trade route, it'll be a bit more expensive due to the limited sources. If it's a beautiful item from a location that is near unreachable due to extreme distance, deadly hazards and/or impassable barriers, then the impossibility of obtaining the item will make it potentially worth many times its weight in gold. I would guess that the faery kingdom is just such an isolated location, so things that are about as common as sand on a beach to them are worth a king's fortune elsewhere.
