Without spoiling anything, l would say that my initial impressions of what this series was about were different than my impressions after I'd read 15-20 chapters. Don't judge it by what you took away from the first episode, because your view of the dynamic may evolve as mine did.

Maybe air time? Perhaps they couldn't get twice as many weeks of short slots, so they took this for greater total number of scenes? It means 24 shorts instead of 12, we just get two shorts a week. I'd say it works great with its current length as a pair. Far better than a certain bizarre series that used its full length to show a short episode twice with different VAs...

how... how could the anime manage to multiply the teasing and cuteness of this series???
what a brilliant job I can't get enough of the blushing... and that is a brilliant 50:50 eraser bet Takagi-san really wanted him to notice her |

i'm definitely in the camp that thinks this would've been so much better as a series of shorts.
This first episode was terrible to me, and I don't mean that it was really bad. Just simply unbearable for the duration. I understand from the title that this was going to be about teasing, but I just watched this guy get teased/pranked for 20 minutes and not just that, the girl has such an overwhelming advantage that everything panned out as painfully predictable. That's not any fun to me, especially since the sequences weren't that funny. I don't feel any chemistry between the two leads despite the side characters saying so. The show goes out of its way to point out that *they obviously like each other*, but why are they interacting like that? I'd rather the show focus more on funny gags and such, but if they're going with the romance angle to tie things together then I might've enjoyed it more if this first episode showed how they met and actually got "close enough" to try to tease each other constantly. Right now it just feels like I started watching this show from the middle of the season. |

Funny, I'd always thought of people teasing their crush as a way to hide their feelings or maybe just a way to see entertaining reactions, but now, after what she said this ep, I get the feeling that she's doing this largely to make sure that he's always thinking about her. She wants to be on his mind and if he doesn't have the guts to pursue her or take things in a direction where certain things become possible then she's going to keep making fun of him and pushing him and challenging him, enjoying his reactions and rejoicing in the knowledge that she's always on his mind.
Also, I'd been wondering how old they were; didn't see a year last ep. Like I thought from the way they look they're seventh grade, twelve or barely thirteen. |

Takagi is pretty much doing this to get Nishikata's attention, that's for sure. While the first half was mainly mocking him all the time, the second half was pure teasing, especially in the pool.
Personally I'm not so sure about having long episodes, probably short ones could be better. Still this series is pretty good and fun, I wonder where is the studio going to end the adaptation. |

Watched the second episode and my main gripe about the episode duration hasn't changed.
That said, I hope I didn't deter anyone from enjoying or checking out the series as I did check out the manga the other day and it's actually quite good. I can see what they were going for and the show is respecting the original source very well. Since my main complaint obviously won't change as the series continues on, I'll just choose to watch the episodes bit by bit, which is still fine for me considering the episodes already seem to be split up and structured in that way. |

Well, the anime so far feels fine. The second episode felt a bit long at the end, but that may be because I've already read the manga like a week ago and so it's still too fresh.
Anyway, I'm excited for the upcoming stuff. Depending on how they adapt this, it might be my anime of the season.
