Has anybody watched the Stephen Miller interview on CNN? There was a lot of utter nonsense that was said there, and I'm glad that Jake Tapper did one thing that no one else did before: dish the red card on the Trump spokesperson.

Send them off!

I did and honestly I would have done the same in Tapper's position. We had a talk show here where the host interviews a guest for about half an hour and one time it completely escalated (language: German) cause the guest behaved worse than Miller. The moderator got baited and they insulted each other back and forth. It was quite funny to watch but highly unprofessional.

That said did this interview show us anything we didn't know before? Not really. Republicans will take it as further 'proof' that the 'lying media' doesn't give them time to speak, that poor Miller got silenced by the abusive moderator, and so on. Americans have somewhat lost interest in talking about the flood of Trump offenses and they show no sign of stopping. Positions have been taken and the only realistic hope right now is Mueller's investigation.

Well that's because the realignment didn't happen yet; these people's successors in terms of ideology are actually the Democrats of today. At that time, It was the Democrats that were doing the Jim Crow laws and such but they lost power after the Civil Rights movement; Nixon reeled them in so they could continue with racism underground and find more clever ways of persecuting minorities (ie, the war on drugs)

This guy would be a good example of the racist Democrat ---> Republican switch: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Strom_Thurmond

Democrats are Eisenhower republicans, yes, kinda.
But there aren't any true democrats post neoliberalism

on another note, Bannon apologized about Fire and Fury
... but he didn't deny things. Which is very surprising.
he just said it was directed against Manafort not Don Jr.
But you know, Don Jr arranged that meeting. If the meeting was treasonous than everyone there was. Not just one.

Trump 'in Oval Office foul-mouthed outburst about migrants'

US President Donald Trump has reportedly lashed out at immigrants in a foul-mouthed Oval Office outburst.

"Why are we having all these people from shithole countries come here?" Mr Trump told lawmakers on Thursday, according to the Washington Post.

The remark was reportedly in reference to people from Haiti, El Salvador and African countries.

The White House did not deny the comment, which has been confirmed by other US media.

"Certain Washington politicians choose to fight for foreign countries, but President Trump will always fight for the American people," a statement from White House spokesman Raj Shah said.

It continued: "Like other countries that have merit-based immigration, President Trump is fighting for permanent solutions that make our country stronger by welcoming those who can contribute to our society, grow our economy and assimilate into our great nation.

"He will always reject temporary, weak and dangerous stopgap measures that threaten the lives of hardworking Americans, and undercut immigrants who seek a better life in the United States through a legal pathway."

Mr Trump's remark reportedly came as lawmakers from both parties visited him to propose a bipartisan immigration deal.

Democratic Senator Richard Durbin had just been discussing US temporary residency permits granted to citizens of countries hit by natural disasters, war or epidemics, say US media.

According to the Post, Mr Trump told lawmakers the US should instead be taking in migrants from countries like Norway, whose prime minister visited him a day earlier.

Senator Lindsey Graham, a South Carolina Republican, was also in the meeting, but would not comment on the president's reported slur.

The New York Times reported three weeks ago that Mr Trump had said Haitians "all have AIDS" during a June meeting about immigration.

A backlash to his latest alleged remarks was swift.

Elijah Cummings, a Maryland Democratic lawmaker, tweeted: "I condemn this unforgivable statement and this demeaning of the office of the Presidency."

Another black Democratic lawmaker, Cedric Richmond, said Mr Trump's comments "are further proof that his Make America Great Again agenda is really a Make America White Again agenda".

Mia Love, a Utah Republican and the only Haitian-American in Congress, demanded Mr Trump apologise for the "unkind, divisive, elitist" comments.

The National Association for the Advancement of Colored People (NAACP) accused the president of falling "deeper and deeper into the rabbit hole of racism and xenophobia".

But the White House was apparently brushing off such criticism.

One Trump official was quoted by CNN as saying: "Though this might enrage Washington, staffers predict the comment will resonate with his base, much like his attacks on NFL players who kneel during the National Anthem did not alienate it."

A spokesman for the Salvadorean embassy in Washington DC declined to comment.

In Thursday's meeting, lawmakers reportedly proposed restoring so-called Temporary Protected Status (TPS) permits for certain countries, while offering $1.5bn (Ł1.1bn) for a wall that Mr Trump wants built on the US border with Mexico.

This week the Trump administration announced it was withdrawing TPS for more than 200,000 people from El Salvador.

The decision gives Salvadoreans who have been living in the US for nearly three decades until next year to leave, seek lawful residency or face possible deportation.

They were granted provisional US residency after an earthquake devastated the Central American country in 1991.

But the State Department said on Monday that much infrastructure damaged by the tremor has since been repaired.

TPS permits have already been withdrawn from Haitians and Nicaraguans.

Hundreds of thousands of migrants face possible deportation from the US.
First, it was Trump who said fake shit about Haitians all having AIDS around 3 weeks ago, and now he's calling African countries and Haiti as shitholes where immigrants come from. What's even worse is that he has suggested that the US should get more immigrants from Norway (or from any country that has a majority of white people).

If I were POTUS, said that Russia sends spies and mobsters in the US, said that women they ship to America are mostly prostitutes, and said that Eastern Europe countries are shitholes, how would you react? FFS, there is just no bottom to the pit of mediocrity with that man.

edit: Oh, dear! John Fredericks just outright defended Trump's comments on Don Lemon (CNN) by saying that Haitian and African immigrants do not contribute to prosperity in the US. Then he got rekt by Maria Cadorna and Rick Wilson on live TV.

One funny thing to add to this is that Trump was supposedly in the middle of recording an MLK jr. message when this story broke.

To be honest tons of african countries are shitholes...Hell, even India is a shithole, Russia too. But well cities like Detroit are not better either...

Instead of solving problems in their countries, people tend to escape and bring their mentality with them. Just like a lot of russian migrants escaped USSR (from "shit soviets"), yet brighton nowadays reminiscents later soviets.

Reminds me of that image with lists of countries where muslims are happy and unhappy. And a sentence that they are happy in non-islamic countries and yet try to impose the laws of islamic countries to make them the same.

Well, in the case of the African countries it's responsibility is limited, but in the case of Haiti the responsibility of the US about the mess (second only to France) is hard to denie. Having the US president calling Haiti a ''shithole'' is a bad as if he would go calling Afghanistan a unending warzone.

Afghanistan will be a warzone again eventually.

Trump - whether he indeed said that or not - said what every person had in mind. Even Haitians. And as it always case for such contries - government doing their best to enrich themself. No matter how many money you pump there - nothing will change. I am not sure but Clinton's hand feels in Haiti

It's just like Zimbabwe - changed the president, and the next the son of the current president of Zimbabwe posted an image from his private jet

Very likely, but right now the one country fuelling the situation is the US, making them one of the problem, kind of the same way with Haiti after the invasion and successive heavy interference .

"Lot of folks, from the alt-right to @RichLowry, think they’re making a great argument in the president’s defense tonight by noting that Haiti and El Salvador are, in fact, poor.

But they’re just revealing their own racism. Here’s why:"

Trumps actions on H1B Visas and his recent comments on Haiti shows where his ideals lie

1) He has pronounced ethno nationalist leanings
2) He's still very much obsessed with Hilary Clinton

So? I remember a lot of people claiming to leave USA due to Trump and move to Canada but the failed because found out that the migration laws are stricter here. And nobody have a problem with that and often reference Canada as "great all-inclusive country" while in order to get there you have to pass certain checks.
What is more hilarious is that officially enter USA is more difficult than Canada.

But what is the serious problem when people come from shitholes and bring their mentality with it. There are decent humans everywhere but just because 1 is decent, it doesn't mean next 100 is decent too. It is for example a huge problem with muslims when they lose their minds seeing women not covered.

South Africa is a great example who european-like country became detroited as soon as whites escaped it.
Also a lot of people enjoy mentioning that "USA was built on black backs". So what? Europe was built on europeans backs. Ancient Egypt was built on slave's backs too. It's just that people migrated to USA and realized that is not effective to make its own population suffer if we can use someone else. Pure capitalism - delegate something to somebody and reap the profits. Also USA population at that time was not that big - simply not enough people to work. And Europe wouldn't give them any. So they moved towards Africa. (though it is not their problem that it was underdeveloped by the time the ships arrived)
