Interesting. I take it that young Dessler was still voice by his regular voice actor (not the child, the one at the funeral), because I closed my and listen...and he sounds like the older version of Kodai....because its the same voice actor (Kōichi Yamadera took over many of the late Kei Tomiyama's roles following Kei Tomiyama death in 1995.)

Chapter 6 key poster and release date revealed. The title of the next chapter is "Reincarnation" and the release date is November 2, 2018 - a little more than five months from now. The tagline is "The World Becomes Changed." Well, I wonder how this is going to effect the weekly streams of 2202 on Crunchyroll and Funimation?

My guess: Yuki dies in chapter 5 and then is resurrected in the next chapter, whose title is "Reincarnation".

Like Yuki got shot by Miru and Dessler had blast his ass off with a laser pistol just like in the original Movie. since in Season 2 TV Series that Miru was killed off-screen.

Impressions from the cinema:

Spoiler:

went there early in the morning, don't like crowded places. still a lot of otakus, mostly men, but also some women, also one white otaku.

there was a special give away and a long line formed. but something special Yamato related wasn't there
the cinema itself wasn't full, but still a lot of people for 9am in the morning, propable most of them were still standing in the line...

during the credits, one japanese person wanted to applaud
after the preview the crowd gave some brief applaud
I also saw one japanese woman washing away some tears
I think she liked it

so now some short summaries from what I understood

Spoiler for episode 1:

starts with a flashback to Dressler's past, as a child he was listening to some super secret meeting of some politicians,
his father? was going to execute him, but Dressler made a promise with his older borther and was allowed to live
next flashback, Dressler is a bit older and he is at the funeral of his older borther, his mother is crying a lot
then some flashback how Dressler becomes the leader
the whole flashback had an interesting drawing style, instead of black for the outlines they used gold

didn't get this part, but he is mad at Teressa for some reason related to his past
in the meantime Yamato starts an offensive against Dresslers fleet to save Kodai and the rest at the ground.
the gamilian Kiman? goes to the ground and meets with the rest
now the twist:
Kiman? is a Dressler and directly related to Boss Dressler, maybe even his son, but not sure on this
after hearing some of Dresslers reasons, he turns on his device which turns off Yamato's core and Yamato becomes a literal dead ship in water

Spoiler for episdoe 2:

Kodai wakes up, the shoot hit his helmet and he was knocked out. The ground team was captured and now is on Dressler's main ship.
The dead Yamato is surrounded by Dressler's fleet. Kiman has some dialog with Dressler. He meets with Teressa again and ask some questions.
I think Teressa says something like, he should follow his heart and wish, I think Kiman wants to become king or something.
Kiman betrays Dressler, switches off his device, free's Kodai and they escape. During the escape Kiman is shot by the Gatlantian and crashes with his jet in the water.
He almost drowns, but is saved by Yamamoto in the last second.
At the end, Teressa gives a good bye speech and her and her whole planet disappeares somehow.

can some explain to me who or what Teressa is?

mostly a dialog episode.
Kiman chose Yamato at the end, because on her he found/saw love and friendship
Gatlantis prepares for the battle and they build a new miko
earth also prepares
Yamato prepares, the want to turn their wave motion gun into some kind of Super-Mega-Giga-Wave motion gun
also remember the pilot who is the father of some sick child, the miko on board has some plans for him

Spoiler for episode 4:

the battle begins, a scout fleet meets the gatlantian fleet at Saturn
earth's fleet uses Wave motion guns, which are now one every ship
Gatlantis counters with, pause, literal sword ships which ram into the enemy
well, earth's main fleet warps in and they overpower the Gatlantians. to give you an impression how it looks, imagine Fate's Gilgamesh gate of Babylon, but just way more and instead of weapons ships.
Well, Gatlantis main base, this white comet, warps in and it is bigger than Saturn.
earth's fleet prepares to fire all their wave motion guns, they line up and fire. with the help of some kind of focus lenses the wave motion shots become 5 super-wave motion which combine into a Super-Mega-wave motion.
They destroy the gatlantis base.





just kidding, only the fog is blown away and the real base is revealed. looks like a metal/crystal bird cage which has planets inside. The thing is bigger than Saturn. And by just moving though it, half of Saturn is destroyed.
Earth's fleet once again shoots its Super-Mega-wave motion but the gatlantian base only turns into the white black hole again and destroyes the fleet. with some help only the hurt Andromeda manages to escape.
Yamato warps in and starts to charge their new Super-Mega-Giga-Wave motion gun at boint blank. it looks something like ssj4 Gogeta's big bang attack

now a short side story:
remember the miko and the father of the sick child. the miko gave him an example of a medicine which can save his son. she says it can easily be produced and she will give him the recipt, but only if he does something for her.

back to the plot:
the father has the disabling device control in his hands and switches it on. Yamato is a dead ship again and falls towards the white hole. the end.

Sounds about the same sort of ludicrousness and weird characterization I've come to expect from 2202.

From the size of Gatlantis, I'm assuming it's not gonna land on Earth any time soon lol. More like Earth lands on Gatlantis.

Also I love how 2199 was about "using the WMG is something that must be treated with gravitas" and yet 2202 goes "you get WMG'd, you get WMG'd, everyone get's WMG'd, do you want a super special deluxe ultra pussy crusher WMG? Here ya go!" Very amusing.

Well that sounds interesting.

As for the Wave Motion Guns, its the genie out of the bottle. You can't put it back, and Earth can (and seemingly has) put it on everything. That's a lot of firepower, and it should be overpowering because it is. Should it feel special? In a one verses many fight, sure. In Yamato vs. super weapons/planet, sure. If its a fleet battle between an Earth fleet and someone else? No, it should honesty be their preferred tactic....lay waste to the enemy fleet via wave motion gun spreads...that what the technology was designed for. To make up for the deficient Earth fleet of the 2190s that could barely damage or destroy single Gamilas destroyers and cruisers in fleet engagements. The wave motion gun, to the Earth military, is the answer to combating the massive Gamilas warfleets of old. Mass producing Earth warships with wave motion guns at the rate they are now is a side effect they didn't expect and now they can do more than just sweep Gamilas fleets from the skies....they can do a lot more. So, mass wave motion guns from everyone. Let the Space Goddesses sort them out.

It should be noted that the short version of the Story plot for Chapter Six is up on Yamato2202.net already. My usual translator program is not taking the text from that page so I don't know what its on about.

Honestly feel those extra windows are unnecessary. As someone said on the CosmoDNA page, it looks like a museum ship or luxury cruise ship.

Deep space explorer most likely, with hints of escape ship still in there. She has a lot less visible weaponry than Yamato.

Three main turrets. Some obvious missile and torpedo tube, and whatever is going on with her wave motion guns assembly. She does not have Yamato's secondary batteries, nor any pulse cannons (The AA forest is gone). Her purpose? Unknown.

Her roll? Bring Yamato back into the fight I would think. As that is almost certainly were her remaining crew members are.

There are no plans for further remakes after 2202 - they are going to develop all-new stories moving forward. But, there are possibilities of continuing the incorporation of elements from across the previous continuities as with 2199 and 2202.

Uh Typo guys about my previous post i mean The Yamato is not destroyed forever sorry. i was hoping the dark nebula series look like. yet the Marine Mech Suits been quite awesome when taking on Comet Empire Ships and big ass Medurasa class land tanks if they.ll take on a Dark Nebula Tripod Tank.

I could see them making stories related to the Dark Nebula Empire and Bolar Federation arcs, as well as the Final Yamato story, but things have changed. A lot of things have changed.

Earth-Gamilas politics, How Earth's fleet potential exists has changed, and probably a few other thing have shifted now that those stories can't be told how they happened before.

The basic plot arcs might still exist, but how they are done will be drastically different. I don't know how popular the Dark Nebula Empire itself is as an enemy in the franchise, but in fanart/fan film territory, I see lots of Bolar related materials. Probably because that arc involves Gamilas, and with the changes to Gamilas in Yamato 2199 and Yamato 2202, any story going forwards that involves Gamilas will likely be well received.

The few elements of the two Dark Nebula stories that seem to resonate with the fanbases (or at least what I keep seeing) involve Dessler, Sasha, and I think the concept of the Automated Earth Fleet....but that one seems to me only from a practical standpoint based on manpower shortage issues between starting training crews for all the new battleships Earth will need to build to keep up even a defense force post-war with Gatlantis.

Sasha might be an interesting person to explore...but she's a character that would require either serious explanation, or even more of a time jump than even 2205 as a starting point (depending of course how fast Iscandarian children age....or if they can age "normally" in a Time Rift).

I'd be up for a series that followed some elements of the Dark Nebula story, but mix them with whatever it is Dessler is up to leading into the Bolar Wars era material, as I could see Dessler taking over a part of his old Empire (if not the whole thing) and ending up in conflict with some races in the Galactic Core (or even newly freed Gatlantis or Gamilas second class citizen/slave races) I mean they could use the existing established universe elements and craft a new story with them really.
