Sure you mean \bord and not /bord ... anyway...
It sounds like you have set the border style to 3 (ie. "box behind subs" rather than 1 which is the most common, and means "outline"). Just change that in your style definition. (In case you use Aegisub, it's the "Opaque box" option in the style editor, it should be unchecked.) Another possibility is that you simple make the border so huge it appears as if it was a box. Usually borders around sizes 2-5 pixels work the best, from my experience. Single-pixel borders more often than not make the text [i]less[/]i readable, or at least just look ugly. You can also experiment with putting two copies of the same text on top of each other (put them in different layers and give them the same \pos) with different border thickness and border color, to get a kind of "double outline" effect.

AFAIK, the [KAA] My-HiME effects are made by Tentacle with his own TexFX thing (which is neither ASS nor AFX based). I have no idea if AFX can do the same thing, but with enough persuation you can probably make it do it :P
Since I'm an ASS guy, the most immediate way of doing the effect I can think of is to simply make lots of copies of the text to explode, clip it into small dots (such that you get colored, uncolored and partially and differently colored dots) and make those dots move in an explosion-like way. I hope you get what I mean :P (Of course that's horribly ineffecient to do with VSFilter and just might make it crash if attempted )

No, Tentacle is the nick of the guy who wrote it. The software is called TenFX. I'm not sure if it's publicly available though.
(He's also created the dreaded Asscalc program, which some people might know. I never tried to actually use it, but it really looks like black magic. As the name implies, it's a tool for creating ASS karaoke effects.)

That's about as good as it'll get aside from contacting Tentacle personally. And yes, trying to achieve an effect like that via vsfilter is rather painful. If it doesn't crash, it'll take forever to encode. |

The program seems to have just 3 simple effects in it. I guess we have to make our own scripts and put them in asscalculator. The snow effect its cool^^
Since i'm no good at scripting, can someone help me how to make tha [KAA] Mai Hime's End effect with TenFex? I'm not quite sure how to use asscalculator. If anyone want to share feel free to do it plz^^

TenFex is not Asscalc, as far as I know. With regards to using asscalc, its function is rather obsolete in light of Aegisub's automation capacity. You might as well learn automation/lua scripting instead. Both asscalc/automation assume you have somewhat of a scripting/programming mentality, and it is definitely helpful if you are comfortable with ASS and all of its overrides. If you're weak in any of those fields, you need to learn some more.

While it is still somewhat a work in progress, I can point you to the tutorial for multi-template.lua, a script for Aegisub Automation that is (somewhat) reminiscent of what AssCalc (as I've understood it ) does, but I hope it's better documented. You'll need to follow some other links around on the wiki for more info though. Probably.
As for getting TenFx, apart from probably needing a very good reason, you'll also need to get hold of Tentacle, that's just as hard He only shows up very rarely, and tends to quickly disappear again.

Thanks for the tut. This is just a thought but i think that is too much easyer to work with AFX then aegisub. Why do ppl prefere to use ASS? When i saw shinji's works in karaokes he became my idol in this matter. The quality of AFX (well made) karaokes is far better than the best of ASS. This is just what i think. Can you give me a reason to work with ASS instead of AFX? (just askin^^)
Question: when you have the script what do you do next? do you have to make more effects on aegisub or do you only need de {\k}? where do i put de script and make it run? Thanks for the help

1.) The largest reason would be due to the fact that Adobe After Effects is a professional program with a professional price. That and it is a very versatile program. It wasn't designed for just solely creating karaoke effects. 2.) ASS is much more suited for karaoke effects because it is a specialist application (well not really an application but more like a framework) that is more-a-less built for making only karaoke effects. 3.) ASS is free! 4.) IMO it takes much more skill to do a really fancy or nice effect in ASS then Adobe After Effects. Trust me, hawt girls are more impressed with 5000 \clips than some simple Box Blur =p So with 4.) that would make me a non-skilled bitch... or something Regarding your other ASS question look back in this thread, there is a great wealth of information that should help you figure out how to create karaokes effects. Also, if you plan on doing karaoke effects in Adobe After Effects then you had better learn at the very least the basics of doing it in ASS. This will make you life SO much easier. The reason why I say that is because the people making fancy effects in Adobe After Effects more than likely have a good deal of experience doing it before in ASS. |

In the past i used to work only with Aegisub. But then i saw shinji's works and i thought that is mutch funnyer to do with AFX. Have you ever tryed it? You can do much more things and more easyer than ASS. In the beggining of my miserable karaoke life (lol) for me aegisub was the best thing that hapened but than i saw AFX and it was like a dream. The tool is so powerful. You can do whatever you want.
By the way: are you a girl?
