That's a good point. But it just sucks for me waiting for almost two years only for it to disappear ... *sighs* but that's life, I guess. To tell the truth I don't think there are many like me waiting for the series to conclude, if many is in the realm of thousands. But if in tens or hundreds, I'd say yes. How sure are you that Geneon is not after only money just because they release Zipang? Perhaps they've struck a lucrative deal ... you'll never know.

But I agree - Geneon is expanding its horizons. Now if only they licensed cheap shows like Tetsuya and the others I'd be really amazed at them, as Zipang isn't only one-time for them - they really do seek to expand their view.

um so now that the series is finally "concluded" anyone know if there is an OVA in the works. The ending totally sucked. What a let down. They might as well have ended it on a cliff hanger.

I'm thinking not. The TV broadcast ended eons ago, the final DVD came out last september. If there were an OVA, it probably would have been out by now.

Ahh I see.
Its a pity though. A weak ending for a strong series.
Thanks for the heads up.

Isn't the original source material still ongoing? That might explain the ending.

I think you're right. Dunno if they purposely left the anime ending ambiguous because they're planning another season when the source pulls far enough ahead, or as an incentive to go and buy it.

reading this manga right now, it's very interesting. I don't see it as whitewashing WW2 or anything, just a presentation of different viewpoints.
Spoiler for plot:
The author does not seem to be pushing for any one of these paths as the "right way". All I see is a unique work of alternate history.

It's a great work in being able to show different perspectives.
