Keep in mind that Japan is far FAR ahead compared to us. The WN is already complete to them, the LN is STUPIDLY further ahead than the manga, and the manga is at the human kingdom. Meanwhile us US readers are only NOW getting to the human kingdoms and whatnot in the LN this December.

I am hearing a rumor, someone from funmation on crunchroll said there will be a season2 6 months after season1, total 48 episodes, and this explain the slow pace, for season 1 will only be up to volume 4.

can people confirm that?

No, it really is pointless. Rimuru has Pain Nullifcation, which makes him unresponsive and unfitting for that "role", and he also has Temperature Fluctuation Resistance which makes him very insensitive toward the cold chain.

In the first place I see Rimuru as more fitting for the... well... "other end of the spectrum", I guess.

I do wish they'd use Demiurge's (Overlord) or Diablo's (Isekai Maou) voice actor for Diablo (TenSura) though. If he even appears in the first season that is.

This franchise is an absolute success story. Every version of it has been successful so far, be it the WN on syousetsu, the LN or the manga. The WN was super popular (isn't it still second best WN of all time on syousetsu?) and both the LN and manga sell like hotcakes.

Don't even get me started on the infinite merch potential of Rimuru plushies! These Rimuru plushies are being marketed so hard that it wouldn't surprise me if they appeard on some merch "toplist" for a while! (if such a thing even exists). The anime isn't there to promote the LNs or manga - they don't need it - it's there to promote merch!

That said, don't pay the game too much attention. Re:Monster which has not been doing too well lately (AFAIK no new LN volume for quite a while) has gotten its own mobile game long ago. I think they make such a "cheap game" out of anything that might fit such a setting and village/town/organsiation/nation building fantasy/isekai are perfect for that.

I kind of hope it is a bit better than this.. at least put some effort orz
with all current generation mobile game with same battle and town building system this look like it come out in around 2012-2014....

as for merchandise.. the first thing that come to mind is Rimuru human form nendoroid with mini slime as accessory

Well It could be ok If I didn't play Princess Connect first before seeing this

now it just look kind of wrong

since the battle system seem to be a carbon copy with a tower building system

That was great. A lot of drama and I believe that Vesta got what he deserved.

It's kinda interesting how their trial system works although I have a feeling every kingdom/region has its own principle of rules. Meanwhile, I think another interesting part is the girl shown in the fortune telling globe.

Heh, this show continues to buildup its world and I'm curious to see what else they got in stored in this adaptation.

Yes every kingdom has their own rules despite King/Noble ruling systems depend on nation and King abilities.

So for Gazel the dwarf hero king, his nation is already one of the super power and he himself also a top figure in political world so his decision is absolute in his country.

And this is the first time Rimuru face someone clearly stronger than him even it not in fighting situation despite many might thing Rimuru could easily beat the King in his current form.

another major plot point is Rimuru "Destined" person, just like how Rimuru meeting with Veldora this encounter will change everything
