It looks good. Obviously need to wait and see how it holds up when done. But it was a very enjoyable teaser. Some nice nostalgia remembering the original while watching.
Though if the plan remains to sell this in parts over time then I'm still just going to wait until they fully finish. But I'm glad to see anything from this game again.

I never really noticed it until I saw a comment about Tifa elsewhere. But yeah...they had to put in effort to hide Tifa. She was in multiple parties in the trailer and yet was invisible for both of them. I know they are still in development, but is there a reason to not show Tifa kicking an enemy ? Or are they just saving a Tifa heavy trailer for June?

*snickers* Any change at all is going to cause howling. FF7 fans can get...... how can I say this politely.... "intense" about it. Hmm so Sephi's voice actor is different? Perhaps they couldn't get his other one. It's been known to happen in this industry. It'd be a pity if that was the case, he was quite good. Or fitting I should say.

Feels like the battle system becomes a bit more basic. Not sure if there's some kind of ATB or waiting time for each button press, but I prefer this compared to old KH battle where you need to press D-pad to choose command while moving with your analog sticks.
Then again, it'll probably change again later on so...

I noticed, however, that a lot of people complain that this trailer didn't show any "in-depth" levels of gameplay as late-game (disc 2/3) parts of the original game, which I find really ridiculous. Escpacially the claims that original FFVII was supposedly "Turn-based" (it wasn't though, as it was ATB and you could only make it turn-based by switching on a game setting that's set to off by default, as well as smurfing by entering the sub-menues during combats). Likewise people seem to spread the delusion that FFVII was about "strategy and tactics in gameplay". What a load of non-sense. The game was far too easy for something like that, unless you ignore all side-content and rushed through the main story (in which case your strategy/tactics are limited too due to lack of items that you deliberately missed). Honestly, I think it's better to just wait for more details instead of already complaining about "FFXV-like gameplay" when we didn't really get to see all that much yet. For all we know the process of entering the "command menue" can be set to pause the game or something, making the game effectively like the wait-option ATB that so many people seem to be nostalgic about for no reasons that I can't really understand. The real core of the gameplay of the original was the materia system and the fact that you can customize any character into almost any role (unlike most other games where most charcters are restricted to certain "jobs" or "classes") and I see nothing that suggests that it would be removed or anything like that. Infact at around 0:38 you can even see two green materia in the Bustersword's materiaslots. Materia will definitly still be a huge part of the gameplay, no doubt about it.

"Here's the Teaser Trailer for #FinalFantasy VII Remake that was introduced just now at #StateofPlay. Most of the plans are already in place in the run up to launch, so please bear with us a little longer until we can release more information next month – Tetsuya Nomura #FF7R" source: https://twitter.com/FinalFantasy/sta...10950784679937 The trailer showed the sewers post-Don Cornelio. Not sure about the Sephiroth scene, which is probably some new addition for Cloud's headaches and hallucinations.
