Soo when yukina falls unconcious from containing kojou's rampage, he drinks astarte (i don't know how she even met the requirments, lmao) but since she is kojou's servant in a way, nothing happens to her, kasuko and kanon, the latter 2 are servants, when yukina wakes up she asks to be sucked and she is still injured, but then kojou says he is full from drinking the 3 girls blood and doesn't want to hurt her

She walked up to the second primogenitor (Aswad) and asked him to come under Shizuri's dominion. Basically to become her underling. Everyone at the scene got triggered, but then Asagi added she had a suitable compensation for that and brought in a wagon covered with white cloth.


Aswad became curious as to what it was, since there was never a precedent of someone asking a Primogenitor to become someone's servant. Then Asagi forcefully removed the cloth... and it was a wagon full of curry. Every vassal of Aswad was shocked to say the least, but Ibriss-Bel, who arranged the whole meeting, was desperately enduring busting into a laughter.


Yuiri next to Asagi almost fainted. She was scared enough as is, but she was sure her head was going to fly off her shoulders now. She started shaking Asagi around, but Asagi instead started boasting about how tasty that curry was.


Then Aswad sitting on the throne suddenly burst into a loud laughter. All his vassals and soldiers were looking at him in shock, as even the oldest servants have never seen him laugh to the point of crying.


Finally, Aswad started discussing with his general about how in the past, spices were prized like gold and silver in weight, and curry that was made from said spices was a fitting meal to offer to a king. (of course, he was just making things up to make it a convincing story).



In the end, Aswad agreed to become Kasuko's servant for one night. But he had a condition of his own. Yuiri became tense, wondering what kind of unreasonable demand would come, but he answered, "Keep me...company...for tonight's...dinner. While we eat that curry, let me hear the details of what exactly you are plotting here."

Also, I thought I'd never say this about StB again, but this one is a pretty interesting volume. We finally get to see flashbacks of old days featuring Cain and the three primogenitors, and the truth surrounding vampires as well as every other race. (Kojou is seeing Jaada's memories while he's trapped in her dimensional kenjuu)

Well, The Blood was the prototype of Fourth Primogenitor, "Zeroth" Fourth Primogenitor. And his Kenjuu were basically black versions of 4th primogenitor's Kenjuu. So while he technically is the Fifth Primogenitor now, he's a fake primogenitor. A clone, if you will.

So in past, the people of Nod, the "Deva", used to rule over humans and other races, and their technology allowed them to create other races. They were technologically advanced, possessed powerful bodies and divinity, but even then, there were two things they never managed to conquer. One was the sun. The sun decomposed their bodies and destroyed them. The second was that they had to drink human blood to live on. Thus, they ruled over the humans and used them as their food.


However, before long, the lower races rebelled, even the races they created themselves. At first they underestimated them, but it became clear that they were being pushed back by the very races they used to look down on. Kii Julanbalada, Jaada Kukulkan, Aswad-guul Aziz, and Cain (who was banished to Nod), were the royalty of Nod and distinguished soldiers. Cain often spoke that the "Deva" were heading towards their ruin, and that it would continue to be that way, as long as someone didn't force "Deva" to change.


The war continued, and the so called "Saints" appeared among humans who could manipulate spiritual powers. As time passed, the "Deva" lost more and more territory to the humans.



In the end, the rebelled forces pushed one of Deva's domain rulers to use their ultimate weapons - Kenjuu, a summon from another world, which was impossible to control and destroyed both friend and foe equally. Hence they were banned to be used in war, as they would not disappear until they destroyed their target, then even tried to rob information - memories, from the nearby beings and keep on maintaining their existence in the world.


As the rampaging Kenjuu were a threat for everyone equally, Cain devised 2 solutions to handle them. One was the Divine Power Oscillatory Wave driving technique, which used the Spirit Power that formed a pair with Magic power, and could cancel it out. Since Kenjuu were lumps of Magic Power, a "spear" using that technique could destroy kenjuu in theory. But "Deva" could not use those spears, neither the races they created. Only the humans' "Saints" could use them, but handing the weapons over to them would come to bite them one day. Hence, Kii turned that option down.


The second option was to "Seal" the memory devouring beasts, Kenjuu, inside their blood. The method was simple since they were just lumps of magic, but the execution was easier said than done. All that magic was hard to suppress. Hence Cain suggesting using a technique called "Coupling" - that is, to bind the kenjuu with the so-called "Magical marriage" with another person.


If it was a weak Kenjuu, they would weaken and die along with their host dying.


But if it was a strong Kenjuu, then they would try to keep their host from dying, regenerating their bodies until their magical powers ran out. Their hosts would become eternally living, immortal beings until the Kenjuu got weakened thorugh passing down parts of them from generation to generation.


As Cain was the only one who could rewrite laws of the world, he could not use that technique on himself. For that reason, Kii, Jaada, and Aswad would take his place to become the "Primogenitors" who would seal the Kenjuu in them and live their long, long lives until their kenjuu weakened enough.


PS. When they had that conversation, next to Cain, was also a young human boy he picked up and raised. He was called Meden (zero) Kaleidblood.

Spoiler for Ending:

The girls make a plan to use Asagi's power to "rewrite" Kojou into a true vampire. But for that, they need to hold his kenjuu off and get close to him. The girls (Yukina, Shizuko, Natsuki, Sayaka, Kiriha, Shio, Yuiri, Astarte, La Folia, Kanon, Nagisa, Yuuma) fight his kenjuu and somehow hold them off. Finally, Kojou drinks Shizuko's blood while Asagi clings to him and rewrites his body. Then Kojou breaks free from his monster exoskeleton. The rampaging kenjuu all suddenly disappear and return to his blood. He is surprised that drinking just Shizuko's blood managed to subdue 12 primogenitor class Kenjuu, but then Asagi shows Kojou the rankings of the Itogami Lordship competition, where he sees himself at #1 spot. He is confused, since he wasn't supposed to be on those rankings, but because of Asagi's negotiations, all three primogenitors ended up under Shizuko's rule, and by sucking Shizuko's blood, she became Kojou's servant, thus he became the true lord of Itogami. And holding the lord's title came with a certain benefit. That is, the Lord had right to a part of his citizens' magic power. So using all that magic power was enough to subdue all 12 kenjuu.

In the afterword, the author said we are finally nearing the final, btw. This volume revealed answers to the most important and the final mysteries of Strike the Blood.

Nearing the final? If that means the series is about to end, does that mean the fourth season of the anime series is going to finish airing after the last novel publishes? That's a bit of a letdown because I was hoping that with the anime series' success, we would get a complete anime adaptation of the LN (which is pretty rare now save for the shorter LN titles that get anime adaptations).

I'm getting the feeling that the harem got a little too big. Did the author at least give sufficient time for each harem character to show how and why they wanted to join up with Kojou?

I wouldn't worry about this. We are to far into this now. I'm 99% sure we will see a more or less complete adaption (minus 7/8&10). 4th season will give us 16,19,20 at the least. With just a few more volumes missing, it's more than likely that we will also get the rest .

I hope you're right and that they do fully adapt the StB LN volumes. They could always cover the prequel volumes detailing how Kojou met Avrora in a prequel movie, kind of like the Kizumonogatari movies for the Monogatari LN series. Sadly StB isn't as successful as the Monogatari franchise.

Probably 2-3 more volumes. S4 will come with an extra ova too. since stb got 4 whole seasons I'm sure they will make S5 too and finish the story.

Agree. I could imagine the last volume will be some kind of epilogue or there will be at least a longer epilogue than usual, to get the connection to Vol.17 or the end of the 1st season.

lol, I mean, you can't really blame him for being full there. Astarte used her kenjuu while it was not using Kojou's life-force (it got severed when Kojou lost his powers), so a considerable chunk of her life was shaved away. He had to reestablish the kenjuu contract as soon as possible. For Kanon, she also used the highest level military magic with her own spirit power, so there was a high risk of shifting into a higher dimension, and Kasuko's blood was a must. Not to mention, Yukina was actually hurt there, she had lost too much blood, and even if the injury was healed, her blood itself had not regenerated. so sucking any more could really endanger her. She was just feeling jelly there and wanted to get succ'd, but gotta deal with it. lol

Who is Shizuko again? Also, what was the purpose of those bunny girl outfits that they are seen in the illustrations? Also, what was the reactions of the other girls finding out that Kojo was still a vampire despite giving back the beast vassals to Avora?

Kasugaya Shizuri Castella she appears from V16. (S3 ended at V15) The bunny girl outfits were just Yaze tricking the girls into thinking it would help them tempt the rampaging Kojou better. Ultimately it had 0 effect, though. As for the reactions, they were naturally surprised after hearing the details, but they more or less expected him to get involved into the trouble again, so their surprise didn't last for long and focused on bringing his sanity back.

i thought cain was the one who created demons turning the tenbu with the cleansing this information kinda contradicts what the author has wrote for 20 volumes

Cain often spoke that the "Deva" were heading towards their ruin, and that it would continue to be that way, as long as someone didn't force "Deva" to change.

I don't remember much from the older volumes, but just like he foreshadowed with that line, Cain switched sides in the end. He was called Sinful God for that very reason. Then the Fourth Primogenitor's Root system activated and he was killed. Or rather, was mortally injured and he was burned by the sun while appreciating the beauty of dawn for the first time in his life.
