Or Cain, yeah. The only thing that bothers me is that they added in the meta scene where either her or Cain said no one ever suspects the children.

It's the same for the scene with the dark figure.

Those two scenes are also the ass-pulls from the author, that made me hope Holmes will give the proper answer at the end.
That being said, I'd be honestly disappointed if either of them turned out to be the killer. If they made either of them the killer after those two meta-scenes, it would be a mean move even towards experienced mystery readers.
You get to see things from the culprit's perspective in Agatha Christie's novels too, and yet I don't remember her even straight out giving the culprit away like that.


Now think about how this event will inevitably hit people who haven't read a single mystery novel in their entire life, and don't know what do with scenes like that.

That is IF either of them turns out to be the culprit. That being said, technically Laurie has most to gain. Cain, at least at the moment, seems really easy to manipulate will bite the dust far before her. That being said, there are several other people that have a lot to gain from Laurie and Cain being the ones to marry.

Juliet - Freedom to pick whoever she wants.
Juliet's friend - i.E. the protag. Let's not forget that we just VIEW things from his perspective, we aren't really him though. And considering the other ass-pulls earlier it wouldn't even surprise me.
Dorothy - If everyone dies now, the one left to rule until Laurie and Cain are adults is her. Besides, she got rid of her violent stepson, and, what is basically an insult to her, her husbands illegitimate child.


That is, if Chris and Morris are even dead. Chris corpse has been brought away by Ann, so we can't say were it actually is, while we weren't allowed to inspect Morris corpse in the first place.

That being said, there is something Holmes said earlier that makes me wonder about something else, and I don't mean the moon thing.

I've read mystery novels, but I've never really solved one unless you count "minigames" of the caliber of "where iss Dorothy's necklace?" or "what are she and Adamska plotting?".

I wonder if the moon has to do with the thing where it's supposed to happen at the same time as the PC is sleeping in Chaldea.

Wu on the other hand thinks he'd even distinguish them while peeling potatoes.

What I would want to know though is if any character there is using hair needles Or if Harriet and Juliet are actually twin tails, a barrette might do the same thing...

I'm not quite sure why Bedivere would drop his guard for one sister and not the other, so I don't see how a substitution plot would matter. I think the only one who might is the MC?

As for the similarity with Servants, haven't we been specifically cautioned against making too much of it? Because if not, it's Moriarty. Case solved. (He's the only one who'd go for the subtle kind of evil. Stheno or Euryale would get someone else to do the dirty job, Mephistopheles would have blown up someone by now, Raikou would just slaughter her enemies in a straight fight... )

I don't know about Eva and Laurie, since I don't know their counterparts from the story( same thing with Wu), however, you can make out similarities. Eva for example seems to not mind cheating, and Juliet says she is more like her mother. Fits Euryale perfectly tbh. On the other hand, she has yet to give anyone a reason for asking whether she is a tsundere.

As for Stehno, poison would probably not beneath her. In the first place, we don't know whether there is just one culprit or a culprit and a mastermind. - And Stehno is the scheming type.

Cain's mind is basically that of a mischievous child, same as mephisto.

Let's also think a bit outside of the box regarding the sleep-ins. People ask themselves by now: Why does the MC sleep in the entire time?
When they should imho aks: Who is there to wake the MC up, pretty much every time?
Last time it was even specifically said that the MC passed out due to some kind of poison this time.

So lets see... There are a few options.

- The last meal was poisoned (took pretty long to take effect)
- The MC poisoned from nearby (which would pretty much only leave, if I remember right, Eva and Juliet, though the sleeping agent would be really slow then...
- Or, the MC was put to sleep with a poison dart, by the culprit from afar, who hoped that Juliet would leave them there to get help.

The Murders also usually happen when the MC is asleep, so most of the time, she knows exactly when he wakes up and can act accordingly.

From the very beginning the game has been tricking our perception of the events.

I mean the fact each family member is seen in servant appearances, which serve to conceal their real appearances.

And on the night of the first murder, one particular comment stood out for me.

While talking to Juliet, Morris commented on her sister's "better looks".

But then I realized, Harriet (Euryale) and Juliet (Stheno) are twins. So why would Morris say that Harriet was more his type?

"Her height normally looks to be 3 m or more, but it is impossible to get any accurate numbers since they change every time they are measured."

So, while she's not always 3m, it's only because it's more of a minimum. Being too big to live like a normal human is part of her character.

Neither of which are real dealbreakers one or the other, considering how Japanese parents can refer to themselves or each other.

Also, could Chris' mother be Juliet's, too? Is that the motive? Or just that she really didn't want the alliance?

Or are we back to the more obvious - Dorothy is a mom, Chris' stepmother, in fact - and had a clear motive to get rid of him. And there is a contradiction between her account (going to bed at 10 with Laurie) and Cain's (playing with Laurie till 11:20).

Say I'm just sour that I didn't solve that part myself (tbH I forgot the date switched when I woke up and read the spoiler before the new chapter. Nevertheless, I didn't get the beach thing until later.)

My issue with them pulling this is that it makes the detective's perspective flawed, because the MC himself didn't know about it.

Let me tell you why this is a problem. - Note some translation things might be involved too - The point where you should probably pick it up is indeed the beach, namely when Eva goes "Ms Violet?" on you.

The thing with this is, due to not being the actual character but our player character, we have no idea about Eva's and Harriet's relationship with the MC. Personally, I took it like "since when are you so formal too me." (Which is 50% of the way we should take it anyway). On the other hand, and here I will have to check, Harriet never wonders why you are less formal to her than usual.

E: Yeah I just realized all the reasons we thought Harriet was the sister:

- We meet Eva first, then Harriet. Yet, Juliet says "My mother and sister", it made us think that
- Mash called her the mother, and even drew it on her chart - (Proving my point of the MC not knowing about it btw)


Reading it with assuming Harriet is the mother, her first appearance makes it more look like she is sorry about her son's plunder rather than dizzing him as their sister. That being said, it gives Harriet a weak motive to pin the blame on her daughter's only remaining friend after that speech of hers.

Again though, some translation errors might be involved too, going by how they translated Suzuka Gozen's NP card, which even I can tell is about fox marriages, to "Want to do the thing with the rain and stuff?".
Something similar might have occured here.

I just realized I fell for the exact same thing I cautioned against earlier, because Sheringham "died". The basic ghist is: You are not actually the detective, but Holmes/Sheringham is. So you are basically just a witness allowed to have a flawed perspective of things or even lie about it. (The Harriet/Eva) thing. Pretty clever actually.

Mash isn't even a narrator. She is a meta character. It wasn't just mash though, and I can proof it.
Remember the relationship chart she made, you only get answers to compliment her on it, but none to say it's wrong. The MC, therefore, also believed this to be true. The main reason we fell for it though, is that the order the characters appeared didn't consolidate with the order Juliet introduced them.

Eva appeared first, if she is actually the sister though, she was introduced second.

The moon phases would also be different now than when it released in Japan. You would have had to check 2019's moon phases. That being said, I still took it as ebb and flood.

Basically I woke up, read one of the theories here before I could read the newest chapter. Right now I'm just reading it with the possibility in mind. That being said, as mentioned, some of the things Harriet says suddenly get a different context. I haven't decided (yet) whether she is the culprit though.

Unless she and Juliet's friend had a really bad relationship, making her want them to stop ending up together, her pinning everything on him would seem strange. Especially after asking you to keep sticking with her.

It's hard to say though, it would explain why she doesn't seem to mind fooling around with you near Adamska. The thing that still makes me wonder is the way she talks - which is one of the things I'm not sure of due to possible translation screwups - Despite her rather free spirited character, she keeps saying "should entertain to" instead of "play with" or straight out saying what she means. It sounds minor at first, but if you think about it, it sounds actually really old fashioned.
But again, that might just be Muricans being Muricans, not wanting to directly mention it.

Originally, it made me think Marble doesn't even exist, or isn't half as famous as we believed and the culprit just made it seem as if they were. the question is who the left-handed cup was even for now. There was no murder at all, so it's very possible that Holmes met with... No one at all. As I said, I'm still re-reading though.

Juliet.... as she is the only assassin in the title under suspicion.

Eva hinted that Juliet didn't want to get married. Most of the time MC falls asleep it's around Juliet. Juliet is strong enough to carry a man's body back to the house. The only person that Chris and Morris would let their guard down is with their fiancee.

MC is hanging around Juliet for a while so if Juliet wanted to kill someone she would not need the MC around.

I think that Eva is the mother as MC's brain did a servant substitution and Raiko is viewed as a "motherly" type. Her lancer version is the straight and narrow type so she wouldn't commit a crime.

And...since MC's brain did the servant substitution, there may be something that Juliet's friend is suspicious of that labels Juliet as a killer.

Marble Co is supposed to be better at what it does than Goldie or Violet, which after all are just crime families in one city.
