Ask and you shall receive.
Thanks for the kind words. This was quite a challenging build, and my first ever ver.ka. The plastic joint covers definitely were not for the faint of heart, and I did rip a portion of the thinnest ones. Luckily they give you a bit extra than you need, and I got the hang of creasing them before moving on the bigger sections, which don't have any excess. The water decals went on easy enough (along I did get some silvering which I wasn't able to really fix.) my main problem is not that they flaked or peel'd but rather that they came off if you accidentally touched them while posing and such. I've given everything a top coat but it doesn't seem to have made much of a difference. I will try the Mr.Hobby softener on any future builds as I hear it's pretty easy to apply and a little more of a permanent solution. Still torn about what to build next...

Currently waiting on my next biggish build to arrive, but in the mean time I picked up this little guy and boy was it a blast to work on.
Never took the time to properly weather a kit before, but it was fun to do with this kit, especially since it was so incredible cheap to buy. So I wasn't too worried about screwing up. The new build I'm waiting on will be a different ball game I think...

Holy mother! We got ourselves a Sazabi Metal Structure!!!
@Drake That is some beautiful detailing job. The fact that you painted the tiny human figures is proof of dedication. Anyway, what else is on your backlog? I've been wanting to build my RG Zeta (White Unicorn ver.) since years ago but its notorious reputation kinda scare me.

The things I'm most excited about are the RG Hi-Nu Gundam and the HGAC Deathscythe. The RG Wing is nice, but I think I might go with the HGAC on that one for a complete set, and the 1/100 stuff don't appeal to me much.

I've got 1 big boy kit on backlog currently, slowly working on the newer EX-S Gundam with the MG Fazz Ver.ka to do after.
Really lusting after the PGU RX78 but itll likely be sold out everywhere when it lands... Man still cant get over how fun the MG Ball was...

that hg nightingale looks insane
that rg hi nu seems having a problem standing... I want Shenglong and I knew 1 year ago that when Sandrock came out, knowing my luck, Shenglong would be the last one....but that Deathscythe seems pretty neat!! Dragger L...they should make Guaiz instead, the zaft grunt that never has its own hg produced, even when the show broadcasted but overall this line up is amazing

i finally got the dial moving on painting/building my green Bawoo 1/144. and it only took an $500 purchase on amazon for a 1:10 GTR R33 RC kit. i built most of the model chassis minus the electronics and installing the tires. that $500 was due to the fact only the motor and chassis parts came in the kit. the other electric components had to be ordered and im waiting for the electronic speed controller to come in to move forward more. the painting will use PS/polycarbonate spray paints on the interior of the body shell.
i had to paint the brake disks primer+silver and decided that since the paint were being put to good use that i should go paint the areas on Bawoo. most of the painting is done aside from color matting the gloss paints. i might need to find some shoulder parts to paint but its only the touch up and assembly left. i still have a 144 OVA deathscythe, Ayame+May Gundam girl and May's Wadom along side some more traditional plastic cement type car builds... i primed the parts for Bawoo 2 months ago??? and just didnt get back to it, im such a procrastinator. |
