I heard good things about this one.

Is it true that it's similar to OreGairu to some extent? Cause if that's the case, the timing could be due to making this it's successor.

It's not. At all.

Saying this before everyone compares them.

I think I saw it in the comment section of the manga adaptation on Dex years ago.
Nonetheless I'm still curious.

I have one question only, is there a clear main heroine or is it another harem?

Another series on my mental "this will probably get an anime someday" list. Nice to see.

It's not devoid of harem elements but it's a bit different to your conventional harem setup. I've not read too far into the series but one unusual thing is that the "female lead" (ie main female character) is not the "main heroine" (ie main romantic interest).

So basically there is a male and female lead but they are not each other's romantic interests but primarily drive the story with their own individual love lives?

Is that accurate?

Let me phrase it this way: at the instigation of the FL, the MC decides to challenge the ultimate RPG game known as "life". The MC is a skilled gamer but weak otherwise. The FL's role is like that of the DM (Dungeon Master).

That's usually a huge flag for the main love interest

Is it a harem where all of the female characters likes only the MC ? Or are some gonna be attracted to other male characters ?

I am a big harem-hater,so if this is such a harem, then I'm not gonna be watching this but gonna rewatch Tsurezure Children and Blend S instead.

No, not all girls like the MC.
And yes, other male characters are important to the story. (one in particular)

For a straight up character drama, this one is very well written I would say. Of course, it's not going to be to everyone's taste but if you want something relatively serious and relatively believable with a strong focus on character development and relationship development then you'll probably like this.

I would not describe it as a harem though there is more than one potential love interest. I'd say this story tries to avoid "template" type setups or development and tries to be reasonably realistic.

Those character designs look familiar. Like the ones from Iroduku by P.A. Works.

Just went, and checked, and Fly did the original character designs for both.

Now that you mention it, I can totally see it. The girl on the right looks like Kohaku with blue hair .

The drama cd cast has been announced, there's a possibility that they will use this cast for the anime as well.

Considering they're announcing this cast after the anime adaption has been confirmed...I think that makes it more likely they'll use the cast here.

Can anyone translate the cast? I can't recognize the faces...

Cast in order from top left to bottom right.

Tomozaki Fumiya: Satou Gen
Hinami Aoi: Kanemoto Hisako
Nanami Minami: Hasegawa Ikumi
Kikuchi Fuuka: Kayano Ai
Natsubayashi Hanabi: Maekawa Ryouko
Izumi Yuzu: Hieda Nene
Mizusawa Takahiro: Shimazaki Nobunaga
Takei: Mizuno Shuntarou

Aside from Kanemoto Hisako, Kayano Ai, and Shimazaki Nobunaga, they're all newbie seiyuu.

Voice sample from their talent agency:

- Satou Gen's (Tomozaki):

- Hasegawa Ikumi's (Mimimi):

- Maekawa Ryouko's (Tama-chan):

- Hieda Nene's (Izumi):

- Mizuno Shuntarou's (Takei):

Yoshitsugu Matsuoka might be too busy with other big roles like Kirito so his agency must've pushed younger talent, Satou Gen is Matsuoka's junior form I'm Enterprise. And Haruka Tomatsu too, I think she's perfect as Hinami, but Hisako Kanemoto could pull out great performance too so I'm not too worried about this cast change. I just hope Satou Gen could exceed my expectations.

This is the old CM which voiced by Matsuoka and Tomatsu

Staff seems...okay, from what I'm aware of them from?

Okay as in "It's bad, but could have been worse?"
MAL is not the best place to judge things, since it's notorious for inflating the scores. Now, if the best from Project No.9 is a 7.17 from 2013, should I be optimistic? No.

What about the director? Well...

Pretty much "Mr. Project No.9". I remember watching Netoge from his works. I finished it later than I expected, because I lost interest in the last couple of episodes. And it was supposedly rushed.
