One Piece - Chapter 1084 [manga]
Welcome to the weekly manga discussion thread for One Piece.
Thread GuidelineBriefs
It's that time, guys! Spoiler info comes courtesy of AP's Redon: -Chapter title is "Attempted Murder of Celestial Dragons". Splash is a color page. -As Sabo infiltrates the Pangaea Castle, he meets up with Jewelry Bonney! She entrusts him with saving her father as she decides to make her way to Egghead.Curiously, while sneaking around, Sabo overhears some guards mention something about a "Phantom Room". Meanwhile, continuing where we left off last chapter, Cobra meets with the Five Elders (aka Gorousei). Cobra brings up the topic of one of Alabasta's past monarchs, Queen Lily. She was actually one of the original founders of the World Government, but she refused to become a Celestial Dragon along with the other rulers. After the WG's establishment, Lily never returned to her homeland, nor were there any traces of her existence left after the Void Century. All that's known is that her younger brother took her place in ruling the country after her disappearance. Cobra asks the elders what happened to the queen, but they plead ignorance. This leads Cobra to ask them another question: What is the meaning of "D"? It seems the question is related to a letter that Lily left behind for the royal family prior to her disappearance.... -Meanwhile, Charloss makes another attempt to abduct Shirahoshi, but he gets thwarted by Sai and Leo (both of the Straw-Hat Grand Fleet, remember). Also, RA commander Morley frees Kuma from the CD's grasp! But at the end of the chapter we go back to Cobra, who has a face-to-face encounter with none other than..... IMU!!!! The enigmatic ruler utters the name "Lily" upon their meeting..... Last edited by marvelB; 2023-05-18 at 12:44. |

I wonder if it will turn out Imu is this Lily. Maybe she wanted complete control but the other kings wouldn’t give her it. So she played the slow game by corrupting their descendant into easily controlled inbred assholes. Her history in Alabasta was a risk so she tried to take out its royal family when they started asking questions.

Seen the spoilers; Cobra talks to the Goroise and they try to kidnap Shiraoshi again, and about Imu, I think he surely knew that Lily girl and had something to do with her disappearance and maybe she told Cobra something before her death, well wait for the next one chapter.

I'm more curious as to why they need to even cover it up. Whatever happened to Queen Lily I mean. Why would the masses or virtually anyone care what happened to someone centuries ago. Unless it is enough to shake the foundation of the WG itself.
Long shot, but do we actually get a clear image of Imu do you know?

Also wow, Charloss got his head bashed in like a freaking accordion, lol. I WANT to say that's finally the end of him... but I won't be surprised if he somehow recovers and tries to kidnap Shirahoshi (or any other women ) again. Maybe Oda will leave it up to Luffy to finish the job once and for all....? |

I guess Cobra knew he didn't have long to live and decided to go "fuck it, I'm going to ask them all the questions I've been meaning to" after all this time. It still feels a bit random he would ask about a woman who has disappeared 800 years ago regardless, unless that letter she left behind contains information that could turn the world upside down.
Glad to see Charlos get beaten to a pulp again, but yeah, he's probably going to be just fine. The murder of a Celestial Dragon would have made the news. I was wondering why Yamato was trending in the United States since she wasn't even in the chapter... geez, people are still hung up on that?

I enjoy how Carlos got flattened by Sai and Leo. It reminds me of what Sentomaru did to Demalo at Sabaody after two years skip.
Mjosgard made a good decision to stop Mermaid Brothers. Leave the errands to Leo and Sai; they'll be fugitives since they were pirates while the Princes were safe. If the princes were involved, the Ryugu Kingdom would be targeted for sure. |

Seen the chapter, Cobra spoke with the Goroise Sabo met, Sabo met with Bonney, Carlos was hit, Kuma was released and Imu appeared in front of Cobra, I guess the next chapter the old man will die and Sabo will be in the place (maybe there are also some revelations), to wait for the next chapter!.

Things are really connecting with this chapter. Imu making their appearance again with what little speech they have is certainly a highlight. Though we never got any names of the other elder stars since Jaygarcia Saturn.

Vegapunk is one of the Government's top assets, and killing him would require heavy firepower due to formidable defenses. Furthermore, Mjosgard decision to stop Fukaboshi is a wise one, since Leo and Sai are pirates, and they participate because they were hired as an escort. Letting Leo and Sai hit Charlos would allow them to go scot-free, since there was chaos. In addition, we have already seen that the Ryugu Royal Family were returned safely as Garp have tea with them before leaves, but the curious part is how they were safe, which was told in these chapters. |

Oda already confirms that the entire Ryugu Royal Family is safe, Vivi is with Morgans, and the last thing we need to know is Sai and Leo's safety, along with Dressrosa's royals. Issho and Ryokugyu have their hands tied dealing with Revolutionaries, and furthermore, Sai and Leo were under the authorization of Mjosgard, a Celestial Dragon to hit Charlos. If it was major incident, it would be where no one comes to cover them, unless Oda intends to make it a major incident where Sai and Leo hits Charlos under the authorization of Mjosgard. |
