Not a bad move to start with effectively the apocalypse breaking out . Cast is going to have their hands full saving as many as they can in that scenario.
Decent start. Shun is a good character to focus on during all this. Since undoubtedly he's as "normal" as you are going to probably get in this show .

Wow. Shun really came all this way because he was really into Nakamura . Obviously there is more to it than just that now. But that was the spark that's taken him all the way to where he is now. Not sure his odds are doing that much better since Nakamura is sore at him getting there before her.
And I get her feeling that way. She did great in training. Only one she fell behind was Daigo who is a beast. It is too bad that she hasn't gotten there yet even though she has the skills. Obviously she's going to get there. Just has to hang in there a bit longer. The dynamic with Daigo and Shun is now pretty good. Definitely seems to trust Shun much more now and looks honestly happy to have him there.

After this weeks earthquake, I actually think the coming disaster is going to be an eruption from Mt. Fuji. The Hoei eruption which happened in 1707 and is the last confirmed eruption of Mt. Fuji was triggered by an 8.6 earthquake.
Taken from the National Geographic, "Fuji’s last eruption ejected tons of tephra into the atmosphere. Tephra includes all solid volcanic material—not lava or volcanic gas. Tephra released by the 1707 eruption of Fuji (called the Hoei eruption) included volcanic ash and volcanic rock, such as pumice and scoria. Tephra blanketed the city of Edo (now the central part of Tokyo, more than 100 kilometers (62 miles) away)." https://education.nationalgeographic...on-mount-fuji/ This would explain the fireballs falling from the sky.

I didn't really think about it going into this episode. But yeah, I suppose saying "drop dead" and then having Shun head into a dangerous rescue situation would be pretty stressful! Her issues and being upset at not being there yet is understandable. But Shun is not coasting around either.
The veterans on that squad have got to be thinking "these crazy kids" repeatedly. Daigo being pretty crazy clearly isn't anything new for this group with their lack of reactions to him dislocating his shoulder. The kind of guy that will do anything to make the rescue work. And thinks intensely about the dangers to the victim. But it's not only him. Shun may be shocked at Daigo, but in turn he himself can be pretty bold too. Put himself in serious risk to make sure that the victim would be safe even if he didn't have a good way out of that situation. Thankfully...he's on a rescue squad. So they managed to get him out of there safely.

I like those little details and how the show explore not so important characters like the ramen old man and what they thought it was rude for daigo to left the soup, there was a reason behind and the old man knew since he was conscious at that time.
looking foward to nakamura chapter. |

Really delved into the drama and past of Yuki in this one. Made sense that she had such a strong and driven reason to want all this for herself. To chase down this dream no matter what it would take her.
Kind of funny how you have some characters with insanely strong motives like Yuki and presumably Daigo, and then you have...Shun. The normal guy of the bunch that started out just wanting to impress a girl. And yeah sure, the whole realization about the safety of his world angle too. Good kind of shock to the system for him. He didn't know any better and didn't mean to offend (a lot of the times he did). But that doesn't make it easier to look at his past and think about how Yuki must have been feeling all this time. But hey, at least he knows and can try to do better. I guess you can say his thinking is going even beyond that. He's got to throw everything he has into it. Become better at absolutely everything he can. Of course partly to get Yuki's attention. But also it's just all he can do. I know people have their jobs to do. But geeze some bleh questions from the journalists. Although I think Yuki might need to spend more time working on her media skills too. I mean...admitting you'd murder the CEO of the hotel if he was alive today...probably wouldn't be a great move. Can totally feel that way and be justified considering how many deaths came because of violation of safety standards. But if she wants to take on her current path...some things just need to be left unsaid. Gives the feel that if he was alive that instead of working to save lives that she'd just be focused on killing someone. And all the more interesting since it seems a given that Daigo and Yuki both are connected heavily to the same firefighter. Someone that shaped their very lives and lead to them running down this path. And now Yuki is being swept up into apparently some super hardcore rescue squad. Which I suppose Daigo and Shun will get taken to eventually also. This trio has to unite at some point.

My theory is that Daigo is the son of the CEO that owned the building that burned down and 140 people died in. It would explain why mom just up and left(guilt, shame, anger and probably got a heap ton of death threats), why his aunt asked him about changing his name, and why he now counts major rescues. I think this is the secret he has between his superior.

I love that the Captain kind of shared my feelings here. While it was a good message from Daigo for Shun not to get too fired up...that's something he needs to take to heart as well. As much as anyone he's insanely driven during rescues. Fair to think that he needed supervision or else he might fly off the handle and get himself killed.
Of course fair enough for Shun to get that message too. Obviously he's heated over the whole thing with Yuki and because he likes her. But he can't throw himself into danger either just to try and catch up to her and Daigo in that way. Though the situation kind of requires him to do exactly that . A good bluff on his part. No one has time to make a call to confirm what Shun is saying. And honestly they'd rather let him try than leave Daigo and the civilians to die. Thankfully it is working out so far! A risky move, but it's all they can do besides wait and pray for the water rescue specialists to get there!
